Abstract
El TPU de esta invención contiene insaturación en su cadena principal polimérica. La insaturación puede estar presente en el segmento blando o en el segmento duro o en ambos de los segmentos blandos y duros del TPU. El TPU puede ser moldeado similar a un material termoplástico, y subsecuentemente puede ser reticulado. En una modalidad, los TPUs de esta invención son el producto de reacción de (1) un intermediario terminado en hidroxilo, (2) un poliisocianato, (3) un extendedor de cadena de glicol saturado, y (4) un extendedor de cadena de glicol que contiene enlaces dobles de carbono-carbono. En otra modalidad de esta invención, el poliuretano termoplástico que es reticulable por la irradiación con haz de electrones está comprendido del producto de reacción de (1) un intermediario terminado en hidroxilo saturado, (2) un intermediario terminado en hidroxilo insaturado, en donde el intermediario terminado en hidroxilo insaturado contiene enlaces dobles de carbono-carbono, (3) un poliisocianato, y (4) un extendedor de cadena de glicol saturado.
