Claims (15)
- 領域拡張装置によって中に支持コアが挿入されるデバイスであって、前記領域拡張装置は、半径方向に拡張可能な内表面と、該半径方向に拡張可能な内表面から半径方向に外方に延在する平面とを画定する加圧手段を有し、前記デバイスが、
後端と反対側の前端と、軸方向穴とを有するエラストマー管であって、当該軸方向穴は前記エラストマー管内を延在して前記支持コアを受容するように構成されている、エラストマー管と、
半径方向外表面及び該半径方向外表面から半径方向に外方に延在する平面によって画定される段部と、軸方向穴とを有するアダプタであって、当該軸方向穴が、当該アダプタ内を延在すると共に前記エラストマー管の前記軸方向穴の直径と実質的に同一の直径を有する、アダプタと、を備え、
前記支持コアを前記後端から前記エラストマー管の中に挿入することに応じて、前記アダプタの前記平面が前記エラストマー管によって前記加圧手段の前記平面に対して押し付けられ、前記アダプタの後端と前記エラストマー管の前記前端との間の界面が高摩擦であり、そのため前記アダプタ及び前記エラストマー管が一緒に半径方向に拡張し、前記アダプタの前記半径方向外表面が前記加圧手段の半径方向に拡張可能な内表面に対して半径方向に外方の圧力をかけるように、前記アダプタが、前記加圧手段と前記エラストマー管との間で前記エラストマー管と実質的に同軸状に位置決めされる、デバイス。 - 前記エラストマー管と前記アダプタとの間の軸整合を達成するように構成されるコネクタを更に備える、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記コネクタが、前記軸方向穴の直径と実質的に同一の直径を有する円筒状の外表面を備え、前記軸方向穴のそれぞれの少なくとも一部分内に位置決めされる、請求項2に記載のデバイス。
- 前記エラストマー管が、45未満のショアA硬度を有する、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記エラストマー管が、シリコーンゴム、エチレンプロピレンゴム、及びエチレンプロピレンジエンモノマーゴムのうちの1つを含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記エラストマー管及び前記アダプタが、300%を超える伸び率を有するエラストマーを含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記アダプタが、前記平面から後方に延在し、かつ前記アダプタの後端で終端する第2の半径方向外表面を更に備え、前記第2の半径方向外表面の直径が、前記エラストマー管の外径を超える、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記エラストマー管が、前記前端でテーパ形状であり、前記第2の半径方向外表面の前記直径が、前記エラストマー管の最前方位置で前記外径を超える、請求項7に記載のデバイス。
- 前記エラストマー管の前記軸方向穴の表面及び前記支持コアの外表面に適用される、3×105mPa・sより高い粘度の潤滑剤層を更に備える、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記支持コアを前記エラストマー管の中に挿入する間、前記エラストマー管の前記軸方向穴と前記支持コアとの間で前記エラストマー管の前記後端に位置決めされるように構成されるスペーサを更に備える、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記スペーサが、基部と、該基部から延在する複数のフィンガとを有するパッドを備え、前記パッドが、前記エラストマー管の硬度を超え、かつ前記支持コアの硬度未満である硬度を有するエラストマーを含む、請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- エラストマー管と実質的に同軸状にアダプタを位置決めする工程であって、前記エラストマー管が、後端と反対側の前端と、軸方向穴とを有し、当該軸方向穴は前記エラストマー管内を延在して支持コアを受容するように構成されており、前記アダプタが、半径方向外表面及び該半径方向外表面から半径方向に外方に延在する平面によって画定される段部と、軸方向穴とを有し、当該軸方向穴が、当該アダプタ内を延在すると共に前記エラストマー管の前記軸方向穴の直径と実質的に同一の直径を有する、工程と、
前記アダプタの前記半径方向外表面を領域拡張装置の加圧手段によって画定される半径方向に拡張可能な内表面と係合する工程と、
前記軸方向穴の前記直径を超える外径を有する前記支持コアを前記後端から前記エラストマー管の中に挿入する工程と、
を含む、方法。 - 挿入する前記工程の前に、3×105mPa・sより高い粘度の潤滑剤層を前記エラストマー管の前記軸方向穴の表面及び前記支持コアの外表面に適用する工程を更に含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 挿入する前記工程の前に、前記支持コアの前端の周囲にスペーサを位置決めする工程を更に含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記スペーサが、基部と、該基部から延在する複数のフィンガとを有するパッドを備え、前記パッドが、前記エラストマー管の硬度を超え、かつ前記支持コアの硬度未満である硬度を有するエラストマーを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
