別に定めない限り、ここで用いられるすべての技術用語と科学用語は、一般に、本発明が属する技術分野の当業者が普通に理解すると同じ意味を有する。
Claims (14)
- 少なくともひとつの超硬質インサートに少なくともひとつの貫通穴及び皿穴を作成する方法であって、
第1の主面及び対向する第2の主面を有するボディを用意するステップと、
ボディにレーザーを用いて少なくともひとつのパイロット・ホールを形成するステップであって、少なくともひとつのパイロット・ホールはボディの第1の主面から対向する第2の主面まで延びるステップと、
ワイヤ放電加工機(WEDM)を用いてパイロット・ホールを切削して真直な円筒状部分とトップ円錐状部分を生成するステップと、
放電研磨機(EDG)を用いてボディの少なくとも一方の側に皿穴を形成するステップと、
少なくともひとつの超硬質インサートをボディから切断して貫通穴と皿穴を含む仕上げられたインサートを形成するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 上向きに開口するトップ・テーパーを作ることにより、凹んだ円錐状部分を作るステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- ボディの炭化物基板に制限されたカーブした皿穴を機械加工するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- ボディに多数のパイロット・ホールを形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 円錐状部分がWEDMによって上向きに形成され、さらに、WEDMのトップ・ノズルをオフにし、WEDMのボトム・ノズルをオンにするステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記方法はPCBN又はPCD層の厚さ及び組成と無関係であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 貫通穴とインサートの内接円の同心度が約0.02mmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 仕上げられたインサートは切断プロセスの間にカットされ、逃げ角が形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 仕上げられたインサートが貫通穴、皿穴、及び逃げ角の存在によって約0.08mmの研磨ストックを含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 請求項1の方法によって作られることを特徴とする複数のインサート。
- 少なくともひとつの超硬質インサートに少なくともひとつの貫通穴及び皿穴を作成する方法であって、
第1の主面及び対向する第2の主面を有するボディを用意するステップと、
ボディにレーザーを用いて少なくともひとつのパイロット・ホールを形成するステップであって、少なくともひとつのパイロット・ホールはボディの第1の主面から対向する第2の主面まで延びる、ステップと、
ワイヤ放電加工機(WEDM)を用いてパイロット・ホールを切削して真直な円筒状部分と上部円錐状部分を生成するステップと、
放電研磨(EDG)を用いてボディの少なくとも一方の側に皿穴を形成するステップと、
上向きに開口するトップ・テーパーを生成し、それによって凹んだ円錐状部分を生成するステップと、 少なくともひとつの超硬質インサートをボディから切断して貫通穴と皿穴を含む仕上げられたインサートを形成するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 少なくともひとつの超硬質インサートに少なくともひとつの貫通穴及び皿穴を作成する方法であって、
第1の主面及び対向する第2の主面を有するボディを用意するステップと、
ボディにレーザーを用いて少なくともひとつのパイロット・ホールを形成するステップであって、少なくともひとつのパイロット・ホールはボディの第1の主面から対向する第2の主面まで延びる、ステップと、
ワイヤ放電加工機(WEDM)を用いてパイロット・ホールを切削して真直な円筒状部分と上部円錐状部分を生成するステップと、
放電研磨(EDG)を用いてボディの少なくとも一方の側に皿穴を形成するステップと、
ボディの炭化物基板に制限されたカーブした皿穴を機械加工するステップと、
少なくともひとつの超硬質インサートをボディから切断して貫通穴と皿穴を含む仕上げられたインサートを形成するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 内側の穴とインサートの内接円の同心度が約0.02mmであることを特徴とする超硬質インサート。
- 貫通穴と皿穴を備える超硬質インサートであって、インサートの厚さが約1.5mmから約5.0mmまでの間にあり、貫通穴の直径が約2.15mmから約8.0mmまでの間にあり、インサートの貫通穴の直径の許容誤差が+/-0.02mmであり、インサートの同心度が約0.02mm以下であることを特徴とする超硬質インサート。
