Abstract
【解決手段】燃料電池10は、電解質膜・電極構造体12をカソード側セパレータ14及びアノード側セパレータ16で挟持する。カソード電極20を構成する第1ガス拡散層20bの平面寸法は、アノード電極22を構成する第2ガス拡散層22bの平面寸法よりも大きな寸法に設定される。アノード側セパレータ16は、第2ガス拡散層22bの外周部位に対向する部位に、厚さ方向に薄肉状の逃げ部24を設ける。

Claims (2)
- 固体高分子電解質膜の一方の面に、第1触媒層及び第1ガス拡散層を有する第1電極が配設され、前記固体高分子電解質膜の他方の面に、第2触媒層及び第2ガス拡散層を有する第2電極が配設されるとともに、前記第1ガス拡散層の平面寸法は、前記第2ガス拡散層の平面寸法よりも大きな寸法に設定される電解質膜・電極構造体と、
前記電解質膜・電極構造体の両面に配置されるセパレータと、
を備える燃料電池であって、
前記第2電極に対向する一方のセパレータは、前記第2ガス拡散層の外周部位に対向する部位に、厚さ方向に薄肉状の逃げ部を設けることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記逃げ部は、前記第2ガス拡散層の外周端部から内方側に入り込んで形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
