Abstract
Description

Claims (23)
- 血管形成術を行うためのシステムであって、
先端部に膨張可能なバルーンを有したカテーテルシャフトと;
前記膨張可能なバルーン上に配置された拘束構造と;
を具備し、
前記拘束構造が、前記バルーンの膨張前に前記バルーン上に密接した非拡径状態と、前記バルーンの非拘束サイズよりも小さいサイズとされた拡径状態と、を有し、
前記拘束構造が、交差する複数のチャネルラインに沿って、前記バルーンの膨張を制限することを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
前記チャネルラインが、軸方向を向いている、あるいは、周縁方向を向いている、あるいは、軸方向と周縁方向との双方を向いている、ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項2記載のシステムにおいて、
前記拘束構造が、周縁まわりに互いに離間して配置された複数の軸方向ストラットと、軸方向において互いに離間して配置された径方向に膨張可能な複数のリングと、を備え、
前記リングが、前記軸方向ストラットに対して取り付けられ、
前記軸方向ストラットと前記リングとが、互いに交差していることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項3記載のシステムにおいて、
前記リングが、前記ストラットに対して、75°〜105°という範囲の交差角度でもって連結されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項4記載のシステムにおいて、
前記交差角度が、90°であることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項3記載のシステムにおいて、
前記軸方向ストラットが、前記バルーンの先端部および基端部において前記カテーテルに対して連結されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項6記載のシステムにおいて、
各ストラットの先端部と基端部との少なくとも一方が、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際には、前記カテーテルシャフト上において軸方向に並進移動可能とされていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項6記載のシステムにおいて、
個々のストラットの各々が、張力に対して弾性的であり、これにより、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際には、前記ストラットが延伸されることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項8記載のシステムにおいて、
前記拘束構造の両端部が、前記カテーテルシャフトに対して固定されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項3記載のシステムにおいて、
前記リングが、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際に前記リングを拡径させ得るよう、延伸可能な弾性材料から形成されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項10記載のシステムにおいて、
前記リングが、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際に前記リングを拡径させ得る変形可能な特徴物を付帯して形成されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項11記載のシステムにおいて、
前記変形可能な特徴物が、ジグザグ形状とS字形状とコイルとのうちの1つ以上のものを有していることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
前記バルーンが、血管壁内へと搬送されるべき薬剤によってコーティングされていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 血管内の障害部位を処置するための方法であって、
血管内においてバルーンを膨張させ;
複数のチャネルラインに沿って前記バルーンの膨張を制限する;
という方法において、
互いに区分された複数の突出領域を、前記障害部位に接触させ、これと同時に、前記チャネルラインを、血管壁に対して接触させないことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項14記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、膨張不可能なまたは半ソフトな材料から形成し、
前記バルーンを、10〜25気圧という範囲の圧力で膨らませることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項14記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、互いに交差する軸方向のチャネルラインと周縁方向のチャネルラインとに沿って制限し、これにより、四角形に区分された突出領域を形成することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項14記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際に血管壁内へと移送されるべき薬剤によってコーティングすることを特徴とする方法。 - 血管内における非一様な障害部位を処置するための方法であって、
前記障害部位のところにおいてバルーンを膨張させ、
この場合、前記バルーンの表面に、互いに個別的な複数の突出領域を形成し、これら複数の突出領域の各々を、各突出領域が印加する局所的圧力でもって前記障害部位の各セグメントに対して係合させ、これにより、前記障害部位の各セグメントに対して過度の圧力が印加されることを回避することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18記載の方法において、
前記突出領域を、前記バルーン上に配置された複数のストラットを有した拘束構造によって形成することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項19記載の方法において、
前記ストラットを、軸方向と周縁方向とに位置させ、これにより、四角形に区分された突出領域を形成することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、膨張不可能なまたは半ソフトな材料から形成し、
前記バルーンを、10〜25気圧という範囲の圧力で膨らませることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際に血管壁内へと移送されるべき薬剤によってコーティングすることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18記載の方法において、
前記突出領域を、互いに同様のサイズを有したものとするとともに、前記バルーンの表面上において一様に分散されたものとすることを特徴とする方法。
