Description

Claims (23)
- 血管形成術を行うためのシステムであって、
先端部にバルーンを有したカテーテルシャフトと;
膨張可能な拘束構造と;
を具備し、
前記拘束構造が、周縁まわりに互いに離間して配置された複数の軸方向ストラットと、軸方向において互いに離間して配置された径方向に膨張可能な複数のリングと、を備え、
前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記リングが、互いに交差しているとともに、前記バルーン上に配置され、
前記拘束構造が、前記バルーンの非拘束サイズよりも小さい直径とされた拡径状態を有し、これにより、血管内において前記バルーンおよび前記拘束構造が膨張された際には、前記バルーンのうちの、互いに隔離された複数の個別領域が、前記拘束構造の周縁を通しておよびそれら周縁を超えて突出し、これにより、前記拘束構造が血管壁へと到達しない状態で、前記複数の個別領域が血管壁に対して接触するものとされている特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記リングが、少なくとも16個の開口を形成していることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項2記載のシステムにおいて、
前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記リングが、周縁まわりにおいて4個の開口を形成していることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記リングが、前記軸方向ストラットに対して、75°〜105°という範囲の交差角度でもって連結されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項4記載のシステムにおいて、
前記交差角度が、90°であることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記軸方向ストラットが、前記バルーンの先端部および基端部において前記カテーテルに対して連結されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項6記載のシステムにおいて、
前記軸方向ストラットの各々の先端部と基端部との少なくとも一方が、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際には、前記カテーテルシャフト上において軸方向に並進移動可能とされていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項6記載のシステムにおいて、
前記軸方向ストラットが、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際には、延伸されることができることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項8記載のシステムにおいて、
前記拘束構造の両端部が、前記カテーテルシャフトに対して固定されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載のシステムにおいて、
径方向に膨張可能な前記リングが、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際に前記リングを拡径させ得るよう、延伸可能な弾性材料から形成されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項10記載のシステムにおいて、
径方向に膨張可能な前記リングが、前記バルーンが膨らまされる際に前記リングを拡径させ得る変形可能な特徴物を付帯して形成されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項11記載のシステムにおいて、
前記変形可能な特徴物が、ジグザグ形状とS字形状とコイルとのうちの1つ以上のものを有していることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記バルーンが、血管壁内へと搬送されるべき薬剤によってコーティングされていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 血管形成術を行うためのデバイスを製造するための方法であって、
バルーンを折り畳み;
前記バルーン上に拘束構造を配置する;
という方法において、
前記拘束構造を、周縁まわりに互いに離間して配置された複数の軸方向ストラットと、軸方向において互いに離間して配置された径方向に膨張可能な複数のリングと、を備えたものとし、
前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記リングを、互いに交差したものとし、
前記バルーンの膨張により、前記バルーンのうちの、互いに隔離された複数の個別領域を、前記軸方向ストラットと径方向に膨張可能な前記リングとの間の開口から突出させ、これにより、前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記リングが血管壁へと到達しない状態で、前記複数の個別領域を血管壁に対して接触可能なものとし、これにより、前記バルーンを回転させることなく、前記バルーンを膨張させ、
さらに、カテーテルシャフトに対して、前記拘束構造を取り付ける、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項14記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、膨張不可能なまたは半ソフトな材料から形成し、
前記バルーンを、10〜25気圧という範囲の圧力で膨らませることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項14または15記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを膨らませる際には、前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記リングが少なくとも16個の開口を形成するようにして、前記バルーンが拘束されていることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項14〜16のいずれか1項に記載の方法において、
さらに、薬剤によって前記バルーンをコーティングすることを特徴とする方法。 - 血管形成術を行うためのデバイスを製造するための方法であって、
バルーンを折り畳み;
前記バルーン上に、複数の開口を有した拘束構造を配置する;
という方法において、
前記バルーンの膨張により、周縁まわりにおいて前記複数の開口から突出する互いに隔離された複数の個別領域を形成し、これら個別領域が、前記バルーンを回転させることなく、局在化した力でもって表面に対してそれぞれ係合することができ、
傷害のセグメントにおける前記バルーンの直径を、隣接するセグメントにおける前記バルーンの直径と同様のものとすることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18記載の方法において、
さらに、前記拘束構造を、複数の軸方向ストラットと、これら軸方向ストラットに対して交差しているとともに軸方向において互いに離間して配置された径方向に膨張可能な複数のリングと、から形成することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項19記載の方法において、
前記軸方向ストラットおよび前記複数のリングにより、前記複数の個別領域を前記開口から突出させ得るための、四角形の開口を形成することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18〜20のいずれか1項に記載の方法において、
前記バルーンを、膨張不可能なまたは半ソフトな材料から形成し、
前記バルーンを、10〜25気圧という範囲の圧力で膨らませることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18〜21のいずれか1項に記載の方法において、
さらに、薬剤によって前記バルーンをコーティングすることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項18〜22のいずれか1項に記載の方法において、
前記複数の個別領域を、互いに同様のサイズを有したものとするとともに、前記バルーンの表面上にわたって一様に分散されたものとすることを特徴とする方法。
