Description
(i)バルーンが、好ましくは0.3〜2ATMへ膨張される。
(ii)ポリウレタン接着剤が噴霧、浸漬又は塗装を介してバルーンのベース層に適用される。
(iii)接着剤ベース層が硬化され、繊維がバルーン表面上に編組される。可変ピッチプロセスが、脚部、テーパ部、及び作業長さに亘って、作業長さ6〜14以上のPPI範囲で使用される。
(iv)ポリウレタン接着剤のカバー層が編組されたグリッド上に適用されて、繊維を適所に固定し、繊維とプラーク物質との間の相互作用を最小にするような連続的繊維コーティングを確保する。
(v)粘着性カバー層が硬化され、任意の外層がバルーンに適用されて、粘着性を最小化し、血管部位への送達を向上させる。
いくつかのプロトタイプのバルーンを、本開示の教示に従って構成し、下記のように試験した。
(i)コンプライアンス‐圧力の関数としてのバルーンの直径;
(ii)破裂圧力‐バルーン材料が機能しなくなる圧力の測定;
(iii)疲労‐バルーン材料が機能しなくなる前に繰り返された膨張・収縮サイクル数の測定;及び
(iv)プロフィール‐折り畳まれたバルーンの直径の測定。

Claims (21)
- 狭窄した血管を拡張するためのシステムであって、
カテーテルシャフトに備え付けられたバルーンであって、第1の材料から成るバルーンと、
グリッドを形成する複数の繊維であって、前記グリッドが前記バルーンの長さ全体に延び、前記複数の繊維のそれぞれが、前記繊維の長さ全体に沿って前記バルーンの壁に接着されるか又は溶着され、前記複数の繊維が、前記バルーンが所定の圧力を超えて膨張したときに、複数のバルーン領域が、前記複数の繊維によって形成された前記グリッドから突出するように、前記第1の材料よりも小さい弾性を有する第2の材料から成る、前記複数の繊維と、
を備え、
膨張の前に、前記バルーン及び前記複数の繊維の両方が、折り畳まれると共に、前記バルーンの軸の周りに巻き付けられる、システム。 - 前記バルーンが第1のポリマーから成り、前記複数の繊維が第2のポリマーから成ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
