第2のアイデアは、磁界パターンの設置を可能にするために磁界を「微小要素化」(“pixellating”)する原理である。ここで、磁界を微小要素化する目的は、磁界の密度と強さを局所的に変化させることを可能にするためである。このことは多くの理由で重要であるが、例えば、一様磁界分布が要求されても、全ての微小要素がその平面にわたって等磁化または等分布を持つ場合にはこれは生成されないだろうということを一度認識すれば理解されるかもしれない。
2)現在、少なくとも同程度の高い磁界を印加することなしに、超伝導体の断片に高磁界を閉じ込める実用的な方法はない。この方法は低い磁束密度の磁界を使い、数多く印加を行う。
図14を参照すると、これは実験装置の垂直断面の半分を示しており(もう片方の半分はこれと符号する。)、各要素の振舞いが、分離された状態と組み合わされた状態の両方で試験できるように設計されている。その組み立てはモジュール式であり、プルシアンブルーや超伝導体の有無にかかわらず測定可能であり、またホール素子が超伝導体に隣接するか磁石に隣接するかのいずれかで測定できる。図14の配置は、実際の縮尺とは異なることに注意すべきである。
プルシアンブルー類似物は、溶解物から粉の形態で沈殿し、悪い熱伝導性を持つ傾向にある。バルク構造を形成する1つの実用的な方法は、銀のDag(登録商標)のような金属接合剤を使用することであり、これは、熱的および電気的な伝導率を増加させるが、一方で充填率、したがって磁気モーメント総量には逆に影響しない。図16はこのように形成されたプルシアンブルーのパックの例を示す。

- 前記調整が前記磁気回路を開放することを含む、請求項2または3に記載の方法。
- 前記開放が前記材料のキューリー温度の上まで前記強磁性またはフェリ磁性材料を加熱することでなされる、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記磁石の前記自動制御が前記超伝導体表面近傍に磁束の定常波を生成する、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の超伝導体の磁化を変化させる方法。
- 波の上昇時間と下降時間とが異なる、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の超伝導体の磁化を変化させる方法。
- 波が印加される周期は、定常波印加の時間間隔とは10%、50%、100%、200%以上異なる、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の超伝導体の磁化を変化させる方法。
- 前記磁石が電磁石であり、前記超伝導体の前記磁化が前記電磁石により増加されて、前記超伝導体の前記表面にて、前記超伝導体により生成される磁場が前記磁化の前記増加の間に前記電磁石により印加される最大磁場よりも大きくなる、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記磁石は電磁石であり、前記制御は前記電磁石により印加される磁界を制御することを含み、前記磁界が時間的に変化する振幅を有する周期波形を持つことになる、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記振幅が時間と共に減少する、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の方法を使用した磁気画像装置内の超伝導体の磁化を制御する方法。
- 超伝導体の磁化を変化させる装置であって、磁石を自動制御して前記超伝導体表面近傍に磁束の波を生成する手段を備える、装置。
- さらに磁気回路を備え、前記超伝導体が前記磁気回路内に設置され、さらに前記磁化の前記変化の期間または後に前記磁気回路の磁気抵抗を調整する手段を備える、請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記磁石が電磁石であり、さらに該電磁石により印加される磁界を制御する手段を備え、該磁界が時間的に変化する振幅を有する周期波形を持つ、請求項13または14に記載の装置。
- 磁石を自動制御して前記超伝導体表面近傍に磁束の波を生成する前記手段が、前記超伝導体表面近傍に磁束の定常波を生成する手段を含む、請求項13、14または15に記載の装置。
- 請求項13、14、15または16の装置を含む磁気画像装置。
- 超伝導体表面近傍で磁束の波の大きさを自動制御することで、超伝導体の磁化の変化速度を制御する方法。
- 超伝導体表面近傍で磁束の波の大きさを自動制御することで、超伝導体の磁化の最大値を制御する方法。
- 請求項18または19に記載した超伝導体の磁化の制御を含む、超伝導体の磁化を変化させる方法であって、異なる大きさの波が磁化の異なる段階で印加される、方法。
- 超伝導体の磁化を変化させる方法であって、変動磁束の波を印加することを含み、変動磁束の前記波は時間と共に減少する振幅を有する、方法。
- 変動磁束の連続する前記波が連続して小さくなる前記振幅を有する、請求項21に記載の超伝導体の磁化を変化させる方法。
- 前記超伝導体の磁化を変化させることが前記超伝導体を磁化することを含む、請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記超伝導体が強磁性またはフェリ磁性材料を含む磁気回路内に設置され、さらに前記超伝導体の磁化の変化期間または終了後に前記磁気回路を調整することを含む、請求項18〜23のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記調整が前記強磁性またはフェリ磁性材料の温度を制御することでなされる、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記調整が前記磁気回路を開放することを含む、請求項24または25に記載の方法。
- 前記開放が前記強磁性またはフェリ磁性材料を前記材料のキューリー温度を超えて加熱することでなされる、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 請求項18〜27のいずれかに記載の方法を使用した磁気画像装置内で超伝導体の磁化を制御する方法。
- 超伝導体の磁化を変化させる装置であって、変動磁束の波を印加する手段を備え、変動磁束の前記波は時間と共に減少する振幅を持つ、装置。
- さらに磁気回路を備え、前記超伝導体は前記磁気回路内に設置され、さらに前記超伝導体の磁化の期間または終了後に前記磁気回路の磁気抵抗を調整する手段を備える、請求項29に記載の装置。
- 請求項29または30の装置を含む磁気画像装置。
