Abstract
【解決手段】高密度化された窒化ケイ素体は、ランタナ系焼結助剤(ランタン、ネオジウム)、アルミニウム化合物系焼結助剤を用いて形成することができる。この窒化珪素と焼結助剤とを混合した組成物は、1750℃の焼結温度において、焼結及び熱間等静圧圧縮成形によって高密度化することができる。

- 1wt%を超えるネオジムを含む、請求項2に記載の窒化ケイ素体。
- 0.50μm未満の平均粒子幅を示す粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の窒化ケイ素体。
- 0.30μm以下の平均粒子幅を示す粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の窒化ケイ素体。
- 2.0以上の平均アスペクト比を示す粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の窒化ケイ素体。

該焼結体を熱間等静圧圧縮成形して8.0MPa・m1/2よりも高い破壊靱性を示す窒化ケイ素体を形成する工程
を含む、高い破壊靱性を示す窒化ケイ素体の製造方法。 - 前記未処理体が2%以上のランタナを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記未処理体がイットリアを本質的に含まない、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記窒化ケイ素体が、約5μm未満の平均粒子幅を示す粒子を含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 1%以上のランタン、及び1%以上のネオジムを含む、焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
- イットリアを本質的に含まない、請求項15に記載の焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
- 約4%以上のランタナを含む、請求項15に記載の焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
- 8.0MPa・m1/2よりも高い破壊靱性を示す、請求項15に記載の焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
- ランタン及びネオジム以外の希土類元素を本質的に含まない、請求項15に記載の焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
- 混合則によって99.9%超の密度を有する、請求項15に記載の焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
- 軸受における転動体を含む、請求項15に記載の焼結された窒化ケイ素体。
