Abstract
【解決手段】 本発明は、ガラス製品上に酸化鉄コーティングを施す方法を定める。製品は、建築用グレイジングとして用いられるのが好ましい。上記方法には、コーティングが蒸着される表面を有する加熱ガラス基材を供給する過程が含まれる。コーティングされる表面に向けてかつその表面に沿って、フェロセン及びオキシダントが送り出され、フェロセン及びオキシダントはガラス基材の表面またはその付近で反応して酸化鉄コーティングを形成する。

Description
Claims (16)
- 大気圧のオンラインのフロートガラス工程において大気圧下化学蒸着法を用いてガラス製品上に酸化鉄コーティングを被着する方法であって、
前記コーティングが蒸着される表面を有する加熱ガラス基材を供給する過程と、
フェロセンとオキシダントとを予め混合して、気体のプリカーサ混合物を形成する過程と、
前記コーティングされる表面に向けてかつその表面に沿ってフェロセン及びオキシダントを混合して形成された前記プリカーサ混合物を送り出す過程と、
前記ガラス基材の前記表面またはその付近で前記フェロセン及び前記オキシダントを混合して形成された前記プリカーサ混合物を反応させて、主としてFe2O3からなる酸化鉄コーティングを形成する過程とを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記フェロセン及び前記オキシダントと共に不活性キャリアガスを供給する過程を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記オキシダントが、酸素ガスであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記コーティングされたガラス製品を常温まで冷却する過程を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記不活性キャリアガスが、ヘリウム及び窒素の少なくとも一方を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記酸化鉄層が、200Å/秒に等しいかそれ以上の速度で蒸着されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フェロセンの気相濃度が、0.1ないし5.0%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フェロセンの気相濃度が、0.3ないし3.0%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記フェロセンの気相濃度が、0.6ないし2.5%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記オキシダントの気相濃度が、1ないし50%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記オキシダントの気相濃度が、3ないし40%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記オキシダントの気相濃度が、5ないし35%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記蒸着された酸化鉄コーティングが、300ないし700Åの厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 溶媒中にフェロセンを溶解する過程を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記基材と前記酸化鉄層との間に追加の層を設ける過程を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至13のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記酸化鉄層の上に追加の層を設ける過程を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至13のいずれかに記載の方法。
