Abstract
Description
(i)多層フラッシングテープを提供する工程であって、テープが、第2主表面とは反対側の第1主表面及びコア層厚を有する粘弾性コア層と、コア層の第1主表面に接合された、第1薄層厚を有する第1弾性薄層と、所望により、コア層の第2主表面に接合された第2薄層厚を有する第2弾性薄層と、を含むことと、
(ii)多層フラッシングテープを、窓割り接合部、及び窓割り部と隣接した表面又はその内側の表面に付着する工程と、を含む、方法を目的としている。
(i)多層フラッシングテープを提供する工程であって、テープが、第2主表面とは反対側の第1主表面及びコア層厚を有する粘弾性コア層と、コア層の第1主表面に接合された第1薄層厚を有する第1弾性薄層と、所望により、コア層の第2主表面に接合された第2薄層厚を有する第2弾性薄層と、を含むことと、
(ii)多層フラッシングテープを表面に付着する工程と、を含む、方法を目的としている。
コア層は、様々な粘弾性材料で作製してもよい。単独で又は組み合わせてコア層に利用してもよい材料の非限定例としては、粘着力を高めた天然ゴム類、ブチルゴムなどの合成ゴム類、スチレン−ブタジエン、スチレン−エチレン/ブチレン及びスチレン−イソプレン等の粘着力を高めた直鎖及び放射状のスチレンブロックコポリマー類、ポリウレタン類、ポリビニルエーテル類、アクリル樹脂、特に長鎖アルキル基を有するもの、ポリ−α−オレフィン類、アスファルト類及びシリコーンが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
第1又は第2表面薄層に利用可能なエラストマー材の例としては、熱可塑性フィルム形成ポリマーが挙げられる。代表的な熱可塑性フィルム形成ポリマーの単独又は組み合わせとしては、ポリオレフィン類(直鎖又は分枝したもの)、オレフィンブロックコポリマー類、ポリアミド類、ポリスチレン類、ポリスチレン−ブタジエン類、ナイロン類、ポリエステル類、ポリエステルコポリマー類、ポリウレタン類、ポリスルホン類、ポリ塩化ビニリデン、スチレン−無水マレイン酸コポリマー類、スチレンアクリロニトリルコポリマー類、エチレン−メタクリル酸のナトリウム又は亜鉛塩系のアイオノマー類、ポリメチルメタクリレート類、セルロース誘導体、フッ素樹脂、アクリルポリマー類及びコポリマー類、ポリカーボネート類、ポリアクリロニトリル類、エチレン−ビニルアセテートコポリマー類、並びにこれらに混合物が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
1層又は2層のいずれかの表面薄層を使用している実施形態では、保護すべき基材又は接合部へのコア層又は表面薄層の取り付けを容易にするために、PSA層を、一方又は両方の表面薄層の露出面の少なくとも一部にあるいはコア層の下面に適用してもよい。PSA層に単独で又は組み合わせて利用できる好適な材料としては、粘着力を高めた天然ゴム類、ブチルゴム等の合成ゴム類、スチレン−ブタジエン、スチレン−エチレン/ブチレン及びスチレン−イソプレン等の粘着力を高めた直鎖及び放射状のスチレンブロックコポリマー類、ポリウレタン類、ポリビニルエーテル類、アクリル樹脂、特に長鎖アルキル基を有するもの、ポリ−α−オレフィン類、アスファルト類及びシリコーン類が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
コア層及び/又は表面薄層はまた、顔料、充填剤、紫外線吸収剤、光安定化剤(例えば、ヒンダードアミン光安定化剤)、スリップ剤、ブロッキング防止剤、帯電防止剤、加工助剤、及び添加剤用のキャアリア樹脂のような他の構成成分を含有してもよく、構成成分はいずれも当業者にはよく知られている。これらの添加剤は、フィルム構造物の所望の性能、並びに物理的性質、化学的性質及び接着特性を妨げないように選択することが好ましい。
この試験は、国際基準評議委員会(International Code Council)(ICC)の可撓性フラッシング材料に関する合否基準(AC−148)及び米国建設業者協会(American Architectural Manufacturers Association)の書類AAMA 711に従い、散水ブースを用いて実施した。AAMA 711付録1に記載の試験法は、ASTM E331の修正版である。注:試験法では、気圧1.25kPa(水5インチ)で同時に実施する3つの板試料と、気圧0.39kPa(水1.57インチ)で同時に行われる3つの板試料とが必要である。本実施例の大部分では、1.25kPa(水圧5インチ)において4つ(同時に2つ)の板試料を試験した。データは、初期条件のみに基づいており、熱サイクルは行わなかった。非常に性能の悪い一部の試料では、2枚のパネルのみを試験した。
弾性回復は、ASTM D5459の修正版を利用して、縦方向から幅13mm(0.5インチ)で採取した3つの試料において測定した。引っ張り係数及び1%割線係数は、ASTM D882の修正版を利用して、縦方向から幅13mm(0.5インチ)で採取した3つの試料において測定した。剪断貯蔵弾性率(G’)は、コア試料C−1〜C−4において、レオメトリック社(Rheometrics, Inc.)製RDA IIレオメーターを用い、1Hzにおいて1%の歪み、21℃(70°F)、相対湿度49%において、500g圧縮下で直径25mmの平行プレートを利用して測定した。コア試料C−5の剪断貯蔵弾性率(G’)は、TAインスツルメンツ(TA Instruments)製アレス(ARES)レオメーターを用いて測定した。測定は、直径25mmの平行プレートを用い、約450gの圧縮力をかけて、1Hzにおいて1%歪み、約24℃(74°F)において動的モードで行った。
コア1(C−1)は、スチレン−エチレン/ブチレン−スチレンポリマー(クラトン(KRATON)G1657、クラトンポリマーズ(Kraton Polymers)製)であった。コア1のTgは、−58℃(215K)であり、貯蔵弾性率は477,210Paであった。
様々な薄層材料の特性を表1にまとめる。薄層4は、エチレン−オクテンコポリマー(イグザクト(EXACT)0201、エクソン(Exxon)製)80重量%と、酸/アクリレート変性されたエチレン−ビニルアセテート(EVA)(バイネル(BYNEL)3101、デュポン(Du Pont)製)20重量%とのブレンドであった。
Claims (21)
- 多層フィルムであって、
第2主表面とは反対側の第1主表面及びコア層厚を有する粘弾性コア層と、
前記コア層の第1主表面に接合された第1薄層厚の第1弾性薄層と、を含む、多層フィルム。 - 前記コア層の前記第2主表面に接合された第2薄層厚の第2弾性薄層を更に含む、請求項1に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1薄層厚に対する前記コア層厚の第1の比と、前記第2表面薄層厚に対する前記コア層厚の第2の比とがそれぞれ5以下である、請求項2に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1の比と前記第2の比とがいずれも、少なくとも0.2である、請求項2又は3に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記粘弾性コア層が30,000Pa〜500,000Paの貯蔵弾性率を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記粘弾性コア層が100,000Pa以下の貯蔵弾性率を有する、請求項5に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記粘弾性コア層の貯蔵弾性率が少なくとも200,000Paである、請求項5に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記コア層厚が127マイクロメートル以下である、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1薄層厚と前記第2薄層厚とがそれぞれ127マイクロメートル以下である、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 少なくとも一方の前記表面薄層が、8MPa以下の引っ張り係数を有する、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 少なくとも一方の前記表面薄層が、10〜20MPaの引っ張り係数を有する、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 少なくとも一方の前記表面薄層が、少なくとも30MPaの引っ張り係数を有する、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記コア層の貯蔵弾性率が少なくとも200,000Paであり、少なくとも一方の前記表面薄層の引っ張り係数が8MPa以下である、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記コア層の貯蔵弾性率が100,000Pa以下であり、少なくとも一方の前記表面薄層の引っ張り係数が少なくとも30MPaである、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 少なくとも一方の前記表面薄層の弾性回復が90%超である、請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記粘弾性コア及び前記第1表面薄層が熱可塑性材料を含む、請求項1〜15のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1表面薄層、前記第2表面薄層及び前記コア層のうちの1つ以上の少なくとも一部に接着剤層が更に含まれている、請求項1〜16のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記フィルムが、改正ASTM E331散水ブース試験に基づく釘合格率80%で表されるようなセルフシールである、請求項1〜17のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 表面のシール方法であって、
(i)請求項1〜18のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルムを提供する工程と、
(ii)前記多層フィルムを前記表面に接着する工程と、を含む、方法。 - 前記表面が有窓部表面である、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記表面が、建造物の表面間の交点を含み、所望により前記建造物の表面が、屋根と外壁との接合部、屋根の谷部分、壁と壁との接合部、根太と板壁との接合部、屋根の下面とそれと隣接する壁との間の接合部、及び屋根先端部からなる群より選択される、請求項20に記載の方法。
