Abstract

Claims (27)
- 第1基板と、
前記第1基板上に形成され、複数の微細枝部を含む画素電極と、
を含み、前記画素電極は、隣接する前記微細枝部の間の間隔が第1距離の第1領域、隣接する前記微細枝部の間の間隔が前記第1距離より大きい第2距離の第2領域、及び前記第1領域と前記第2領域との間に位置し、前記微細枝部の間の間隔が段階的に変化する第3領域を含む、液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1領域の前記微細枝部のピッチ(pitch)は第1ピッチであり、前記第2領域の前記微細枝部のピッチは第2ピッチであり、前記第1ピッチは前記第2ピッチより小さい、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1領域、前記第2領域、及び前記第3領域における前記微細枝部の幅は一定である、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記微細枝部の幅は3.5μm〜4.5μmである、請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1領域は前記第2領域より面積が大きい、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1領域は前記画素電極面積の60〜70%を占める、請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第3領域は前記画素電極面積の15〜25%を占める、請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第3領域は前記画素電極面積の15〜25%を占める、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1距離は2.5μm〜3.5μmであり、前記第2距離は3.5μm〜4.5μmである、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第3領域における前記微細枝部の間の距離は0.2μm〜0.3μmずつ段階的に変化する、請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1距離は2.5μm〜3.5μmであり、前記第2距離は4.5μm〜5.5μmである、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第3領域における前記微細枝部の間の距離は0.2μm〜0.3μmずつ段階的に変化する、請求項11に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記微細枝部の幅は3.5μm〜4.5μmである、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素電極は、前記微細枝部の長さ方向が互いに異なる複数の副領域に分れ、前記各副領域は、前記第1領域、前記第2領域、及び前記第3領域を含む、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素電極は互いに分離されている第1副画素電極及び第2副画素電極を含み、
前記第1副画素電極と前記第2副画素電極の電圧は互いに異なる、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1副画素電極と前記第2副画素電極はそれぞれ複数の微細枝部を含み、
前記第2副画素電極は、前記第1領域、前記第2領域、及び前記第3領域を含む、請求項15に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1副画素電極と前記第2副画素電極は、1つの映像情報から得られた互いに異なるデータ電圧の印加を受ける、請求項15に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板上に形成されるデータ線及びゲート線をさらに含み、
前記第1副画素電極は、第1スイッチング素子を通じて前記データ線及び前記ゲート線に接続され、
前記第2副画素電極は、第2スイッチング素子を通じて前記データ線及び前記ゲート線に接続され、
前記第2副画素電極は、第3スイッチング素子を通じて降圧キャパシタと接続される、請求項15に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記画素電極は、前記複数の微細枝部の端を接続する接続部をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記接続部の幅は、前記微細枝部の幅の2.5倍以下である、請求項19に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板上に形成され、スイッチング素子を通じて前記画素電極と接続されるデータ線及びゲート線をさらに含み、
前記接続部は、前記ゲート線と少なくとも一部分が重畳する、請求項20に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記接続部は、前記ゲート線と前記ゲート線の幅方向に完全に重畳する、請求項21に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板上に形成され、共通電圧を伝達する維持電極線をさらに含み、
前記接続部は、前記維持電極線と少なくとも一部分が重畳する、請求項21に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1基板上に形成され、スイッチング素子を通じて前記画素電極と接続されるデータ線及びゲート線をさらに含み、
前記接続部は、前記ゲート線と少なくとも一部分が重畳する、請求項19に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記接続部は、前記ゲート線と前記ゲート線の幅方向に完全に重畳する、請求項24に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板上に形成され、共通電圧を伝達する維持電極線をさらに含み、
