アルミナ/シリカ繊維は、代表的には、約45%〜約60%のAl2O3及び約40%〜約55%のSiO2を含み、この繊維は、約50%Al2O3及び約50%SiO2を含むのが良い。アルミナ/シリカ/マグネシアガラス繊維は、代表的には、約64%〜約66%のSiO2、約24%〜約25%のAl2O3及び約9%〜約10%のMgOを含む。E‐ガラス繊維は、代表的には、約52%〜約56%のSiO2、約16%〜約25%のCaO、約12%〜約16%のAl2O3、約5%〜約10%のB2O3、最高約5%までのMgO、最高約2%までの酸化ナトリウム及び酸化カリウム並びに微量の酸化鉄及び弗化物を含み、代表的な組成は、55%SiO2、15%Al2O3、7%B2O3、3%MgO、19%CaO及び微量の上述の物質である。
高温面/低温面測定試験を取付け繊維マット及び微孔質断熱層を有するサンプル並びに取付け繊維マットを有するが、微孔質断熱層を備えていないサンプルに対して実施した。試験に関する説明は次の通りである。試験結果により、微孔質無機断熱層が設けられていることによる取付けシステムの結果としての低温面に対する影響が分かった。

上述したように、取付けシステムがその寿命中に耐える温度サイクルは、或る特定の取付けシステムにより生じる取付け力に対してマイナスの影響を及ぼす。ひとまとまりとなってこの現象を生じさせる幾つかの機構を考察することなく、このような現象は、或る特定の取付けマットが受ける温度サイクルの多い回数及び高い振幅と相関関係がある。その結果、上述したように、微孔質無機断熱層の低温側に或る特定の非膨大性取付けマットを配置することにより、もしそうでなければ性能に悪影響を及ぼす場合のある温度変化の大きさが減少するので、高いサイクル機能性の実現を促進させることができる。
Claims (20)
- 排出ガス処理装置の脆弱な担体のための支持システムであって、
前記脆弱な担体の少なくとも一部分に直接又は間接的に係合するようになった微孔質の無機断熱層と、
前記脆弱な担体の少なくとも一部分に直接又は間接的に係合するようになった柔軟性の取付け繊維マットとを有する、支持システム。 - 前記無機断熱層は、微粉状金属酸化物及び不透明剤を含み、オプションとして、補強無機繊維を更に含む、請求項1記載の支持システム。
- 前記微粉状金属酸化物は、熱分解法シリカ、アーク法シリカ、低アルカリ沈降シリカ、二酸化珪素エーロゲル、熱分解法酸化アルミニウム、アーク法酸化アルミニウム、低アルカリ沈降酸化アルミニウム、酸化アルミニウムエーロゲル、及びこれらの混合物のうちの少なくとも1つから成る、請求項2記載の支持システム。
- 前記不透明剤は、イルメナイト、二酸化チタン、鉄(II)/鉄(III)混合酸化物、二酸化クロム、酸化ジルコニウム、二酸化マンガン、酸化鉄、ルチル、珪酸ジルコニウム、炭化珪素、及びこれらの混合物のうちの少なくとも1つから成る、請求項2記載の支持システム。
- 前記補強繊維は、珪酸アルミニウム、珪酸マグネシウム、ロックウール、織物用ガラス繊維又は石英ファイバ、又はこれらの混合物のうちの少なくとも1つの繊維から成る、請求項2記載の支持システム。
- 前記無機断熱層は、二酸化珪素及び珪酸ジルコニウムを含み、オプションとして、補強ガラスフィラメントを含む、請求項2記載の支持システム。
- 前記無機断熱層は、約20℃〜約800℃の温度の場合、約0.8KJ/kgKの比熱容量を有する、請求項6記載の支持システム。
- 前記無機断熱層は、0.02未満の歪の場合、約3MPa以上の弾性率を有すると共に約260kg/m3以上の嵩密度を有する、請求項1記載の支持システム。
- 前記無機断熱層は、1000℃未満の平均温度の場合、0.055W/mK未満の熱伝導率を有する、請求項1記載の支持システム。
- 前記無機断熱層は、約260kg/m3〜約520kg/m3の嵩密度を有する、請求項1記載の支持システム。
- 脆弱な担体と、請求項1〜10のうちいずれか一に記載の前記支持システムとを有する、排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記脆弱な担体を包囲した金属製ハウジングと、前記微孔質無機断熱層と、前記取付け繊維マットとを更に有する、請求項11記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記無機断熱層は、前記脆弱な担体に直接係合している、請求項12記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記取付け繊維マットは、前記無機断熱層と前記ハウジングとの間に設けられている、請求項13記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記取付け繊維マットは、実質的に非膨大性である、請求項14記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記取付け繊維マットは、前記脆弱な担体に直接係合している、請求項12記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記取付け繊維マットは、膨大性である、請求項16記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 複数の取付け繊維マットを有する、請求項12記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記脆弱な担体は、内燃エンジンからの排出ガスを受け入れるようになった触媒コンバータモノリス又はディーゼルパティキュレートフィルタである、請求項12記載の排出ガス処理装置。
- 前記脆弱な担体は、選択的触媒還元ユニット、NOxトラップ、又は化学工業排出煙突内に収納される、請求項12記載の排出ガス処理装置。
