Claims (20)
- 耐弾道性パネルであって:
高弾性材料の交互に重ね合わされた層からなる圧縮されたスタックと;
非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた複数の層を含む、前記高弾性材料の交互に重ね合わされた層の第一の部分と;
樹脂中に埋め込まれたクロスプライ繊維の交互に重ね合わされた複数の層を含む、前記高弾性材料の交互に重ね合わされた層の第二の部分と;
前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの前記交互に重ね合わされた層の各々上の接着剤とを含む、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、
前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの層の各々が、複数のテープ細長片を含み;

1400グラム/デニールよりも大きい弾性率とを有する、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、
前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた層の各々内の前記テープが一方向性であり;
前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた層の各々内の前記テープの配向の方向が、前記テープの隣接した層内の前記テープの配向の方向に対して少なくとも30°の角度を有する、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記高弾性材料の交互に重ね合わされた層の圧縮スタックが、
100〜4,000psiの圧力と;
150〜300°Fの温度と
で圧縮及び一緒に接着される、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記第二の部分内の前記高弾性繊維が、超高分子量ポリエチレン繊維、アラミド繊維、炭素繊維、液晶ポリマーベースの繊維、ポリ(p−フェニレンテレフタルアミド、ポリ(m−フェニレンイソフタルアミド)、ポリ(ベンゾビスオキサゾール、ポリ(ベンゾビスチアゾール)、ポリ(ベンゾビスイミダゾール)及びそれらのブレンドからなる群から選択される、耐弾道性パネル。
- 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの前記交互に重ね合わされた層の各々上の前記接着剤が、ポリアミド、ポリオレフィン、エチレン−ビニルアセテートコポリマー、ポリウレタン、エチレン−アクリル酸コポリマー、ポリスチレン−イソプレンコポリマー、又はエチレン−メタクリル酸コポリマーからなる群から選択される、耐弾道性パネル。
- 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記接着剤が、前記パネルの総重量の5〜30重量%含まれる、耐弾道性パネル。
- 請求項2に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記非繊維性UHMWPEテープ細長片が、
一部配向UHMWPEテープを、100:1又はそれ以上の総延伸比迄、延伸することにより形成され、ここで該延伸比は、延伸後の長さを延伸前の長さで割った長さとして定義され;
前記テープ細長片が、少なくとも400:1の幅対厚さの比を含み;そして
前記テープ細長片が、6,000又はそれ以上のデニールを含む、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記接着剤が、前記非繊維性UHMWPEテープの交互に重ね合わされた層の各々上の接着剤のスクリム又はフィルムを含む、耐弾道性パネル。
- 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、
前記非繊維性UHMWPEテープの前記交互に重ね合わされた層の各々が2つの側部を含み;そして
前記接着剤が、前記非繊維性UHMWPEテープの1つに適用された液体分散物の形態を有する、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項1に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記交互に重ね合わされた層の前記第一の部分が、前記耐弾道性パネルの被攻撃面を形成する、耐弾道性パネル。
- 耐弾道性パネルであって:
非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた複数の層を含む被攻撃面と;
前記被攻撃面に接着された複数のバッキング層と;
前記交互に重ね合わされた層の各々間に配置された接着剤とを含み、
ここで、前記バッキング層は高弾性繊維の交互に重ね合わされた複数の層を含む、
耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項13に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた層の各々内の前記テープの配向の方向が、隣接した層内の前記テープの配向の方向に対して少なくとも30°の角度を有する、耐弾道性パネル。
- 請求項13に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記超高分子量ポリエチレンテープが、
少なくとも1.0インチの幅を有するテープの細長片と;
少なくとも2,000,000の粘度平均分子量と;
0.0015〜0.004インチの厚さと;
1400グラム/デニールよりも大きい弾性率と
を有する、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項13に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記接着剤が、ポリアミド、ポリオレフィン、エチレン−ビニルアセテートコポリマー、ポリウレタン、エチレン−アクリル酸コポリマー、ポリスチレン(polystryrene)−イソプレンコポリマー、又はエチレン/メタクリル酸コポリマーからなる群から選択される、耐弾道性パネル。
- 耐弾道性パネルであって:
非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた複数の層を含み;
前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの層の各々が、一緒に接合されてシート構造になった複数のテープ細長片を含み;
前記層の各々内の前記複数のテープ細長片が、第一の角度に配向されたテープ細長片の第一の部分と、前記第一の角度に対して実質的に90°に配向されたテープ細長片の第二の部分とを含み;そして
前記非繊維性超高分子量ポリエチレンテープの交互に重ね合わされた複数の層が、熱及び圧力により一緒に接着されている、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項17に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記接着の熱が少なくとも150°Fであり、前記接着の圧力が少なくとも150psiである、耐弾道性パネル。
- 請求項17に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、
前記層内のテープ細長片の前記第一の部分が、側部同士を突き合わせ接合されて配置され、かつ熱及び圧力により一緒に接着されたテープ細長片の第一のプライを含み;
前記層内のテープ細長片の前記第二の部分が、側部同士を突き合わせ接合されて配置され、かつ熱及び圧力により一緒に接着されたテープ細長片の第二のプライを含み;
前記テープ細長片の第一の部分と、前記テープ細長片の第二の部分とが、一緒に接着されてクロスプライ層を形成する、耐弾道性パネル。 - 請求項17に記載の耐弾道性パネルであって、前記テープ細長片の第一の部分と、前記テープ細長片の第二の部分とが織り合わされて織物を形成する、耐弾道性パネル。
