Description
本願は2006年8月16日に出願された米国出願第60/822,531号および2007年1月11日出願された米国出願第11/622,197号の出願日に基づく利益を主張し、これらは全て、参照によりあらゆる目的に対して本明細書に組み入れられたものとする。

ポリオレフィンエラストマーは典型的には上記の式による(W)およびその約±30%により決定される範囲内である。ポリマー組成物は、例えば射出成形によって部品に成形してよく、該部品はポリマー組成物で形成された表面を有していてよく、表面は少なくとも約7ニュートン、場合により約10〜12ニュートンの耐スクラッチ性を示す。

式中、B.Wunderlich,Macromolecular Physics,第3巻,Crystal Melting,Academic Press,ニューヨーク,1980年,p.48に報告されているアイソタクチックポリプロピレンの融解熱はポリマー1グラムあたり165ジュールである。
W=0.43(M)+15.8
従って、高結晶質部分の所与のMFRに対して、熱可塑性エラストマー、より具体的にはポリオレフィンエラストマーの質量パーセントは、典型的には、上記の式による(W)およびその±30%、より典型的には±20%、さらに典型的には±10%、さらに場合により±5%により決定される範囲内である。例えば、8のMFR(M)に対して、ポリオレフィンエラストマーの質量パーセント(W)は、ポリマー材料の19.24質量%±10%、または約17.316〜約21.164質量パーセントである。この関係は、フィラーの量および種類が本明細書の教示に従って用いられる際に特に有用であることが見出されたが、該関係は他の場合においても同様に有用であり得る。
Claims (17)
- 部品を製造する方法であって、
該方法は、ポリマー組成物を用意する工程、および前記ポリマー組成物を部品に成形する工程を含み、
前記ポリマー組成物は、(i)熱可塑性ポリオレフィン、および(ii)約10質量%〜約25質量%のポリオレフィンエラストマーを含み、
前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンはポリプロピレンを含み、
前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンは前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンの少なくとも50質量%である高結晶質部分を有し、
前記部品は前記ポリマー組成物で形成される表面を有しており、前記表面は少なくとも約7ニュートンの耐スクラッチ性を示すことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンが前記ポリマー組成物の約60質量%〜約90質量%であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンの前記の高結晶質部分が、実質的に完全に1種またはそれ以上のポリプロピレンで形成され、約50%超の結晶化度を有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリオレフィンエラストマーが実質的に完全に1種またはそれ以上のSLEP、LEPまたは両者で形成されることを特徴とする請求項1、2または3に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー組成物中の前記ポリオレフィンエラストマーの質量パーセント(W)が、熱可塑性ポリオレフィンの前記高結晶質部分のMFR(M)によって異なり、次の式
W=0.43(M)+15.8
に従っており、前記ポリオレフィンエラストマーは典型的には上記の式による(W)およびその約±30%によって決定される範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1、2、3または4に記載の方法。 - 前記ポリマー組成物がいかなるグラフトポリマー、焼成フィラーまたは両者も実質的に含まないことを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記成形工程が前記ポリマー組成物の射出成形を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記部品が自走車両のインストルメントパネルの1または複数個の部分であり、前記車両の内部から見えることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー組成物が少なくとも約75質量%のポリプロピレンを含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記の高結晶質部分が、実質的に完全に1種またはそれ以上の、10分間あたり約4g超かつ10分間あたり約20g未満のMFRを示す、ポリプロピレンであることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィン、前記ポリオレフィンエラストマー、およびフィラーが、前記ポリマー組成物の実質的に全体を構成していることを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記フィラーがタルクを含み、前記ポリマー組成物がエルカ酸アミドを含むことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記の高結晶質部分が約65%超の結晶化度を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記部品が自走車両の1または複数個の部分であり、前記車両の内部または外部から見えることを特徴とする請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンが第1のポリプロピレン、第2のポリプロピレン、および第3のポリプロピレンを含んでおり、前記の第1のポリプロピレンと第2のポリプロピレンとが前記熱可塑性ポリオレフィンの前記の高結晶質部分の高結晶質ホモポリマーであって、前記ポリマー組成物が抗酸化剤、耐スリップまたは耐スクラッチ添加剤、および5%〜40%のフィラーを含み、前記フィラーが少なくとも少なくとも80質量%のタルクを含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記第3のポリプロピレンがより低い結晶化度のポリプロピレンであることを特徴とする請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記表面が少なくとも約12ニュートンの耐スクラッチ性を示すことを特徴とする請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
