Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示装置は、画像を表示する表示領域と、表示領域の周辺部である周辺領域とからなる液晶表示装置において、第1基板と、第1基板上の周辺領域に形成される共通パッドと、共通パッド上に形成され、共通パッドを露出する共通コンタクトホールを有する絶縁膜と、周辺領域の絶縁膜上に形成され、共通コンタクトホールによって共通パッドと接触する複数個の補助共通パッドと、第1基板と対向する第2基板と、第2基板上に形成される共通電極と、周辺領域の補助共通パッドと共通電極との間に位置し、補助共通パッドと共通電極とを電気的に接続させる導電性シーラントとを含み、共通コンタクトホールは導電性シーラントと表示領域との間に位置する。

Claims (10)
- 画像を表示する表示領域と、表示領域の周辺部である周辺領域とからなる液晶表示装置において、
第1基板と、
前記第1基板上の周辺領域に形成される共通パッドと、
前記共通パッド上に形成され、前記共通パッドを露出する共通コンタクトホールを有する絶縁膜と、
前記周辺領域の絶縁膜上に形成され、前記共通コンタクトホールによって前記共通パッドと接触する複数個の補助共通パッドと、
前記第1基板と対向する第2基板と、
前記第2基板上に形成される共通電極と、
前記周辺領域の補助共通パッドと前記共通電極との間に位置し、前記補助共通パッドと前記共通電極とを電気的に接続させる導電性シーラントと、
を含み、前記共通コンタクトホールは、前記導電性シーラントと前記表示領域との間に位置し、前記導電性シーラントと重畳しない液晶表示装置。 - 平面視において前記導電性シーラントと前記表示領域との間に前記共通コンタクトホールが位置し、前記補助共通パッドと前記共通電極との間の間隔は一定である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記共通コンタクトホールは3個乃至5個が形成されている、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 平面視した場合の前記共通コンタクトホールの横方向の長さまたは縦方向の長さは、それぞれ前記導電性シーラントの幅より小さい、請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 平面視した場合の前記共通コンタクトホールの横方向の長さは0.2mm〜0.7mmであり、前記共通コンタクトホールの縦方向の長さは0.2mm〜0.7mmである、請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記補助共通パッドは、前記導電性シーラントと接触する導電部、前記コンタクトホールと接触する接触部、及び前記導電部と前記接触部とを接続する接続部を含み、
前記接続部は平面視した場合の前記接触部の横方向の長さまたは縦方向の長さより3倍以上長い、請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記共通パッドは前記画素領域に形成されるゲート線と同一層に形成され、前記補助共通パッドは前記画素領域に形成される画素電極と同一層に形成される、請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記導電性シーラントは導電物質からなる複数個の導電ボールを含み、
前記導電ボールは前記補助共通パッド及び前記共通電極と接触する、請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記導電ボールは、金(Au)からなる球状の物質であり、直径は6〜7μmである、請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 画像を表示する表示領域と、表示領域の周辺部である周辺領域とからなる液晶表示装置の製造方法において、
第1基板の周辺領域に共通パッドを形成する段階と、
前記共通パッド上に前記共通パッドを露出する共通コンタクトホールを有する絶縁膜を形成する段階と、
前記周辺領域の絶縁膜上に、前記共通コンタクトホールによって前記共通パッドと接触する複数個の補助共通パッドを形成する段階と、
第2基板上に共通電極を形成する段階と、
前記周辺領域の補助共通パッドと前記共通電極との間に位置し、前記補助共通パッドと前記共通電極とを電気的に接続する導電性シーラントを形成する段階と、
を含み、
前記共通コンタクトホールは前記導電性シーラントと前記表示領域との間に位置し、前記補助共通パッドと前記共通電極との間の間隔は一定である液晶表示装置の製造方法。
