Abstract
【解決手段】 液晶表示パネル213の光出射側に相対的に偏光度の高い無機偏光板214を配置し、この無機偏光板214の光出射側には当該無機偏光板214より偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板215を配置して、偏光度の高い無機偏光板214と偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板215の光透過軸を対応させた。

Claims (5)
- 照射された光を映像信号に基づいて変調する液晶表示パネルと、前記液晶表示パネルにて変調された光を拡大投射する投射レンズと、前記液晶表示パネルを照射する光を出射する光源とを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶表示パネルの光出射側に相対的に偏光度の高い無機偏光板を配置し、前記無機偏光板の光出射側には前記無機偏光板より偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板を配置して、前記偏光度の高い無機偏光板と前記偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板の光透過軸を対応させたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記偏光度の高い無機偏光板が吸収型偏光板から成ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板が無機物質から成ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板が有機物質から成ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記偏光度の高い無機偏光板と前記偏光度の低い吸収型偏光板の少なくともいずれか一方が光軸に直交する面内において回動調整可能に構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
