Abstract
【解決手段】色素13が金属酸化物半導体層12に担持された作用電極10および導電層22を有する対向電極20と共に、その間に挟持された半固体状の電解質含有層30を備え、電解質含有層30は、有機溶媒に溶解された固体電解質塩を含有する電解液と共に粒子を含んで構成されている。粒子を含まない場合と比較して、高温環境に曝されても、液漏れなどを生じにくくなる。

Description
電解質含有層30の代わりに、後述の表1に示す組成の電解液と粒子との混合物を用いて、図1に示したような構造の簡易セルを以下の手順により作製した。
粒子を用いずに、第1の基板と第2の基板との間に表1に示した組成の電解液を封止したことを除き、参考例1〜4と同様の手順を経た。この際、第2の基板には、液体注入用の穴(φ1mm)を2つ開けたものを用い、第1の基板と第2の基板とをスペーサを介して貼り合わせ、液体注入用の穴を除いた全体を市販の感光性樹脂を用いてディスペンサーにより封止した。こののち、液体注入用の穴から有機溶媒を両基板の間に注入し、その穴を市販の感光性樹脂を用いて封止した。
上記実施の形態で説明した光電変換素子の具体例として、色素増感型太陽電池を以下の手順で作製した。
CBの電解質含有層30中における含有量が10重量%(実施例1−2)、30重量%(実施例1−3)、40重量%(実施例1−4)あるいは60重量%(実施例1−5)となるように電解液と混合し、ペーストを調整したことを除き、実施例1−1と同様の手順を経た。
粒子を用いなかったことを除き、実施例1−1と同様の手順を経た。
電解液中におけるTBAIの含有量(モル濃度)を、0.13mol/dm3 (実施例2−1)、0.25mol/dm3 (実施例2−2)あるいは0.75mol/dm3 (実施例2−3)に変更したことを除き、実施例1−4と同様の手順を経た。
対向電極の導電層を白金により形成すると共に、電解液にヨウ素(I2 )を添加し、電解液中におけるTBAIの含有量を0.5mol/dm3 、I2 の含有量を0.05mol/dm3 に変更したことを除き、比較例1と同様の手順を経た。
固体電解質塩および有機溶媒に代えて、イオン性液体である1−メチル−3−プロピルイミダゾリウムヨージド(MPImI)を用いたことを除き、実施例2−1と同様の手順を経た。
電解質含有層30を形成する際に、固体電解質塩としてTBAIに代えてテトラプロピルアンモニウムヨージド(TPAI)を用い、高分子化合物であるポリアニリン(PA)を加え、電解質含有層30中におけるCBの含有量を12重量%、PAの含有量を3重量%とし、電解液中におけるTPAIの含有量を0.5mol/dm3 となるように、ペーストの組成を変更したことを除き、実施例2−1と同様の手順を経た。この際、粒子(CB)および高分子化合物(PA)として、CBにPAがコーティングされたポリアニリンカーボン(CB+PA)を用いてペーストを調整した。ここで用いたCBのバルク抵抗は、10Ωcm以下であった。
有機溶媒として、MPNに代えて、プロピレンカーボネート(PC;実施例3−2)、N−メチルピロリドン(NMP;実施例3−3)、ペンタノール(PNOH;実施例3−4)、キノリン(QN;実施例3−5)、N,N−ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF;実施例3−6)、γ−ブチルラクトン(BL;実施例3−7)、ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル(DEGBE;実施例3−8)、ジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO;実施例3−9)あるいは1,4−ジオキサン(DOX;実施例3−10)を用いたことを除き、実施例3−1と同様の手順を経た。
固体電解質塩および有機溶媒に代えて、イオン性液体であるMPImIを用いたことを除き、実施例3−1と同様の手順を経た。
金属酸化物半導体層12に色素13を担持させる際に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化1(2)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、実施例3−1〜3−10と同様の手順を経た。
実施例4−1〜4−10と同様に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化1(2)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、比較例3と同様の手順を経た。
金属酸化物半導体層12に色素13を担持させる際に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化1(3)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、実施例3−1〜3−10と同様の手順を経た。
実施例5−1〜5−10と同様に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化1(3)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、比較例3と同様の手順を経た。
金属酸化物半導体層12に色素13を担持させる際に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化2(1)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、実施例3−1〜3−10と同様の手順を経た。
実施例6−1〜6−10と同様に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化2(1)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、比較例3と同様の手順を経た。
金属酸化物半導体層12に色素13を担持させる際に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化2(2)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、実施例3−1〜3−10と同様の手順を経た。
実施例7−1〜7−10と同様に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化2(2)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、比較例3と同様の手順を経た。
金属酸化物半導体層12に色素13を担持させる際に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化3(1)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、実施例3−1〜3−10と同様の手順を経た。
実施例8−1〜8−10と同様に、色素として化1(1)に示した化合物に代えて、化3(1)に示した化合物を用いたことを除き、比較例3と同様の手順を経た。
Claims (10)
- 色素を担持した担持体層を有する電極と、
前記色素を担持した担持体層の上に形成された半固体状の電解質含有層と
を備え、
前記電解質含有層は、有機溶媒に少なくとも固体電解質塩を溶解してなる電解液と共に、粒子を含有する
ことを特徴とする光電変換素子。 - 前記粒子の前記電解質含有層中における含有量は、5重量%以上60重量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光電変換素子。
- 前記粒子は、カーボン粒子を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の光電変換素子。 - 前記カーボン粒子のバルク抵抗は、10Ωcm(0.1Ωm)以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載の光電変換素子。 - 前記カーボン粒子は、カーボンブラックである
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載の光電変換素子。 - 前記電解液中における前記固体電解質塩の含有量は、0.13mol/dm3 以上0.75mol/dm3 以下である
ことを特徴する請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子。 - 前記有機溶媒は、官能基として、ニトリル基、炭酸エステル構造、環状エステル構造、ラクタム構造、アミド基、アルコール基、スルフィニル基、ピリジン環および環状エーテル構造のうちの少なくとも1種を有することを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子。
- 前記有機溶媒は、メトキシプロピオニトリル、プロピレンカーボネート、N−メチルピロリドン、ペンタノール、キノリン、N,N−ジメチルホルムアミド、γ−ブチロラクトン、ジメチルスルホキシド、1,4−ジオキサン、メトキシアセトニトリルおよびブチロニトリルのうちの少なくとも1種を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子。 - 前記固体電解質塩は、アニオンとして、ヨウ化物イオンを有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子。 - 前記固体電解質塩は、カチオンとして、4級アンモニウムイオンを有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項9のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子。
