Abstract

本発明は、互いに接合された3つの別個の部分、すなわち、側壁3と、底部4と、開口部を有する上部分2とを備え、側壁3の厚さが底部4の厚さより小さいパッケージをブロー成形により製造するためのプリフォーム1に関する。本発明はまた、前記プリフォーム1のブロー成形により得られたパッケージに関する。

Description

本発明は、プリフォームを型に入れてブロー成形することによって製造されたプラスチック容器の分野に属する。本発明は、型の中でのストレッチブロー成形により容器を製造するためのプリフォームとその実施例に関する。本発明はまた、このようなプリフォームのブロー成形により得られたパッケージに関する。本発明は、幅広いバラエティの樹脂の使用を可能にし、かつ、極薄肉の容器の製造を可能にする。
本発明は、特に下記の用途を目的とするが、これだけに限るものではない。
果物ジュース、ビタミン飲料、牛乳、アイスティー等の飲料の容器包装、
練り歯磨き、美容クリーム、薬用軟膏、食料品(マヨネーズ、ケチャップ、マスタード)等の粘性製品の容器包装、
シリコーン、マスチック等の工業製品の容器包装。
プリフォームのブロー成形により製造されたプラスチック容器包装の業界では、首部と側壁と底部を備えているプリフォームを射出成形することが慣習である。このプリフォームは多くの利点を有し、単層であっても複層であってもよく、マルチインプレッション型において高速で製造でき、また、幅広いバラエティの幾何形状を実現可能にする。
前記プリフォームのブロー成形により得られた容器は、3つの別個の部分、すなわち、首部を備えている上部分と、容器を落ち着かせる底部と、首部を底部につなぐ側壁を備えている。首部は、耐密性を保証すると共に容器の開閉機能を受け持つ。首部は、一般に、プリフォーム又はブロー成形された容器を扱うための手段を有し、該手段がプリフォームのブロー成形の間に使用され、また、容器の充填の間も使用される。漏れ止めや開閉などの首部の様々な機能は、その幾何形状において高い精度を要求する。
日本国特開昭62−051423は、少なくとも2つの別個の部分、例えば底部と側壁又は上部と側壁から構成し得るプリフォームを説明している。
成形技術、特に、上記公報の中で説明された技術は、薄肉の側壁と上記特性を持つ首部を同時に得ることを可能にしない。この難しさは、特に射出成形プロセスの限界につながり、また、高い精度で首部を成形すると共に薄肉の側壁を成形することの難しさにつながる。これはまた、同じ厚さの底部と側壁を得ることを系統的に求めてきたという事実にもつながる。もっぱら射出成形法を使ってプリフォームを製造するプロセスの、型内空部に注入された熱可塑性樹脂は、徐々に底部を満たし、次に側壁を満たし、最後に首部に流れ込む。注入された樹脂は、側壁でより急速に冷却され、首部が十分に満たされるのを阻むので、側壁が首部より薄肉である場合、極めて精確な首部を得ることが難しい。それゆえ、側壁の厚さに限界があり、側壁が首部よりはるかに薄くはできないことは明白である。
国際公開公報第2005/066027号は、2つの部分、すなわち、首部である第1の部分と、側壁と底部により形成された内空部である第2の部分とを結合させることにより形成されたプリフォームを使って上記問題を解決することを提案している。国際公開公報第2005/066027号によれば、プリフォームの2つの部分は、射出成形により互いに独立して製造される。上記出願の1つの利点は、高温で充填される薄肉のパッケージを製造できることにある。薄肉の側壁を有するプリフォームの製造は、高温充填中のパッケージの深刻な収縮と変形を防止できるようにする。
国際公開公報第2005/066027号は、プリフォームを2つの部分で製造することにより、ブロー成形容器のより幅広いバラエティを実現可能にする。しかしながら、この特許出願は、容器の底部と関連した問題を解決しない。当業者であれば、容器の底部がたいてい容器の最も壊れやすい部分であることを知っている。この壊れやすさは、容器を落とした時に底部が割れることによって、また、物理的応力と化学的応力が組み合わさって作用する間にこの容器の底部の部分が強度の低さ(応力割れ)を露呈することによって表に現れる。
現用のプリフォームの幾何形状から、ポリオレフィン(PE、PP)、ポリアミド(PA−6)、バリア樹脂(EVOH、PA−MXD6、PVDC)等の幅広いバラエティの樹脂を使ってブロー成形により容器を製造することは不可能である。先行技術は、4つ以上の樹脂を備えているブロー成形容器を多層構造で製造することを可能にしない。技術面と経済面の両方の理由から、容器において層の数を増やすことが有利であるかもしれない。
本発明の課題は、上記の問題を解決し、特に相対的に厚肉の底部を保ちながら幅広いバラエティの樹脂を使って超薄肉の側壁を持つ容器をプリフォームのブロー成形により獲得できるようにすることである。本発明の課題はまた、多数の層を持つ薄肉の容器を獲得し、多層構造の多様な組み合わせを可能にすることである。
この課題は、発明通り、少なくとも3つの部分、すなわち、首部を形成する第1の部分と、側壁を形成する第2の部分と、底部を形成する最後の部分から、これら3つの部分を接合することにより作られるプリフォームを製造することによって解決される。本発明に係るプリフォームは、側壁の厚さが底部の厚さ及び上部分の厚さより小さいことを特徴とする。
本発明の一実施例では、側壁の表面又は厚み部分に1つの意匠を印刷したプリフォームを使用する。一般に、プリフォームの側壁を形成する第2の部分だけが印刷意匠を有する。
以下、本発明を図面に示す実施例に則して詳細に説明する。
図1は、先行技術に従って幾つかの部分、すなわち、首部2と側壁3と底部4からプリフォームを製造する方法を示す。首部2は、一般に、プリフォームのこの部分において高い精度を得るために射出成形又は圧縮成形される。側壁3は、射出成形又は圧縮成形または押出し成形により管状に作ってよく、又は、溶接薄板から別の形に成形してもよい。底部4は、射出成形又は圧縮成形により製造してよく、又は、サーモフォーミングにより製造してもよい。
図2は、図1から、首部2と側壁3と底部4を接合することにより得られたプリフォームを示す。接合は、各部分の溶接、機械的嵌合又は結合により行ってよい。
図3は、接合により得られた本発明に係るプリフォーム幾何形状を示す。このプリフォームは、首部2と側壁3と底部4とを備えている。側壁3の内径は首部2の直径より大きく、これにより、このプリフォームは、注型、射出成形又は圧縮成形により製造することが不可能とされる。
図4は、首部2に相対して薄肉の側壁3を有する別のプリフォーム幾何形状を示す。
図3及び4は、首部又は底部に相対して薄肉の側壁を有するプリフォームの製造を可能にする本発明の大きい利点を示す。この薄肉の側壁を有するプリフォームは、有利な特性を持つブロー成形パッケージを獲得できるようにする。
本発明は、特に超薄肉の容器の製造にとって有利である。
本発明は、特に、敏感な製品を保存できる高いバリア特性を有するブロー成形容器の製造にとって有利である。
本発明は、特に、80℃より高い充填温度で充填してよい容器の製造にとって有利である。
図5及び6は、本発明の別の好ましい実施例を示す。この好ましい実施例に合致するプリフォームは図5に描かれている。このプリフォーム1は、首部2、底部4、及び、底部と首部とに接合された薄肉の側壁3を備えている。プリフォームの側壁3は、400ミクロン未満の厚さを有し、押出し成形により製造される。この側壁3は底部と首部2に溶接される。
本発明は、厚さ0.3mm未満、ストレッチ比5未満の側壁を有する容器の製造を可能にする。それ自体にフィルムを溶接することにより得られた側壁の場合、半径方向ストレッチ比は一般に2未満である。この薄肉の容器の一例が図6に描かれている。この容器は単層であっても多層であってもよい。これは、幅広いバラエティの樹脂を使って製造してよい。例えば、このパッケージは、ポリエステル(PET、PEN)、ポリオレフィン(PE、PP)、ポリアミド樹脂(PA−6)、バリア特性が改善できる樹脂(EVOH、PVDC、PA−MXD6)を含有してよい。この容器はまた、例えばアルミニウム層のような金属層を含有してよい。
本発明は、厚さ0.2mm未満の側壁を有する容器の製造を可能にする。プリフォームは、厚さ0.4mm未満の側壁を有するこの容器を獲得できるようにする。
本発明は、特に、対称軸を持たないブロー成形パッケージを製造することの利点を提供する。本発明は、例えば、方形横断面を有するプリフォームから方形横断面を有する容器の製造を可能にする。同様に、楕円形横断面を有する容器を、楕円形横断面を有するプリフォームから製造してよい。
本発明の別の利点は、機能を首部と底部に統合することである。例えば、本発明は、首部が蓋を付けていて、その首部と蓋がヒンジで連結され、単一の部品をなすだけの形のプリフォームの製造を可能にする。
本発明の特に有利な一実施例は、プリフォームに印刷意匠を与えることにある。プリフォームのブロー成形の間、意匠は壁と共に変形し、最終の意匠はブロー成形後のパッケージの表面で得られる。プリフォーム表面に印刷された意匠は、ブロー成形中の意匠の変形を計算に入れている。
プリフォームを製造する方法は、前記プリフォームの3つの部分、すなわち首部と底部と側壁を別々に製造することにある。これら3つの部分を接合する。本発明の好ましい一実施例によれば、これらの部分は溶接により接合され、各部分が、少なくともその接合側に、溶接による接合を可能にする表面層を備えている。これらの部分はまた、機械的方法(ねじ込み、スナップ締着、嵌め合い等)により接合してもよい。
部分々々を溶接により接合するためには、PE又はPPで作られた首部と底部を使用することが有利であり、この首部と底部を、PE又はPPで作られた少なくとも1つの層を内側表面に施した側壁に溶接する。首部と底部は、射出成形又は圧縮成形するのが有利である。側壁は押出し成形する。筒状本体を形成するため、それ自体にフィルムを溶接した側壁を製造することが有利である。前記筒状本体を形成するフィルムは、一般に幾つかの層を備えている。本発明の特に有利な一実施例は、筒状本体を形成するために印刷されたフィルムを使用することにある。前記フィルムは平版印刷してあってよく、これにより、低いコストで高品質の意匠を作ることができる。フィルムが幾つかの層を備えている時、意匠は前記フィルムの表面にあっても、前記フィルムの厚み部分において2つの層の間の境界面にあってもよい。従って、印刷された多層フィルムから出発した場合、本発明の一実施例は、意匠をフィルムの表面に施すか、側壁の厚み部分の中に入れるかしたプリフォームの獲得を可能にする。
プリフォームをブロー成形する方法は、側壁だけを変形させ、底部と首部を変形させないことにある。プリフォームの部分々々の間の接合部も、ブロー成形中に保護されるので、これら接合部は変形させられない。
プリフォームをブロー成形する方法は、前記プリフォームの側壁を加熱し、前記プリフォームを型に入れてストレッチブロー成形することによりパッケージを形成することにある。
本発明の好ましい実施例によりプリフォームをブロー成形する方法は、任意に、プリフォームを加熱する工程、それも、プリフォームの側壁の薄肉を考慮して大幅に縮小した加熱工程を備えている。この場合、プリフォームの側壁だけを加熱し、側壁と首部と底部の間の接合部は加熱しない。次に、プリフォームを型に入れてブロー成形する。前記プリフォームの側壁だけがブロー成形中に変形する。本発明の好ましい実施例によりプリフォームをブロー成形する方法は、前記プリフォームを型に入れて延伸しないので、製造された容器の高さはプリフォームの高さに等しい。前記プリフォームの側壁は、それゆえ半径方向にしか変形させられない。これらのプリフォームを変形比2未満でブロー成形するのが有利であることが判明した。また、前記プリフォームの側壁の減厚により、場合によっては、ブロー成形前にプリフォームの側壁を加熱することが不可能であることも判明した。プリフォームを変形比2未満かつ常温でブロー成形することは、プリフォームを印刷する時に特に有利である。プリフォームの側壁がその厚みの中のアルミニウム層を備えている時、前加熱なしのプリフォームのブロー成形は容易になることが観察されている。印刷されたプリフォームのブロー成形のために加熱操作が要求される時は、一般に熱風の使用が放射加熱のために好ましい。

Claims (21)

  1. 互いに接合された3つの別個の部分、すなわち、側壁(3)と、底部(4)と、開口部を有する上部分(2)とを備えているパッケージをブロー成形により製造するためのプリフォーム(1)において、
    前記側壁(3)の厚さが前記底部(4)の厚さより小さく、かつ、前記上部分(2)の厚さより小さいことを特徴とするプリフォーム。
  2. 前記側壁(3)が可撓性である、請求項1に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  3. 前記側壁(3)が厚さ400mm未満である、請求項2に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  4. 前記側壁(3)がラミネートから構成されている、請求項2又は3に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  5. 前記側壁(3)が押出し成形される、請求項2又は3に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  6. 前記底部(4)と上部分(2)が射出成形又は圧縮成形される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  7. 少なくとも2つのコンポーネントが溶接により接合された、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  8. 少なくとも2つのコンポーネントがスナップ締着により接合された、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  9. 前記上部分(2)の厚さが前記側壁(3)の厚さより2倍大きい、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  10. 前記側壁(3)が多層構造である、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  11. 前記開口部の内径が前記側壁(3)の内径より小さい、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  12. 前記側壁(3)が筒状である、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  13. 前記側壁(3)が楕円形横断面を有する、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  14. 前記側壁(3)が多角形横断面を有する、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  15. 前記側壁(3)が印刷意匠を備えている、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)。
  16. 互いに溶接された3つの別個のコンポーネント、すなわち、側壁(3)と、底部(4)と、開口部を有する上部分(2)とを備えているプリフォーム(1)をブロー成形する方法において、
    前記プリフォームを型内空部でのブロー成形により変形される、特に、前記側壁(3)だけをブロー成形により変形させ、前記プリフォームの軸方向ストレッチ比が1.1未満、前記プリフォームの半径方向ストレッチ比が5未満であることを特徴とする方法。
  17. 前記側壁(3)を前記底部及び上部分との接合部において変形させない、請求項16に記載の方法。
  18. 前記プリフォーム(1)を型内空部において周囲温度でブロー成形する、請求項16又は17に記載の方法。
  19. ブロー成形前に前記プリフォーム(1)の側壁(3)だけを加熱する、請求項16〜18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
  20. ブロー成形の間、前記プリフォーム(1)の伸びを防止するために前記底部(4)と上部分(2)を軸方向でブロックする、請求項16〜19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
  21. 請求項1〜15のいずれか1項に記載のプリフォーム(1)のブロー成形により得られたパッケージにおいて、
    その側壁(3)が少なくとも2つの筒状部分を備え、前記少なくとも2つの筒状部分の中の第1の筒状部分が前記側壁(3)と底部(4)の間の接合部に位置し、前記少なくとも2つの筒状部分の中の第2の筒状部分が前記側壁(3)と上部分(2)の間の接合部に位置すること、前記筒状部分の直径が同一であり、かつ最大直径と前記接合部の直径との比が5未満であることを特徴とするパッケージ。
