Abstract
Description
に関する。この膜は、該膜によって画定された対向する第1の接触面と第2の接触面との間に連続的に延びるイオノマ構成要素を備える。イオノマ構成要素は、陽イオン交換樹脂から成る水和した超微孔質イオノマである。また、膜は、イオノマ構成要素と、粒子状材料、ウィスカ材料または繊維材料から成る群から選択される構造マトリックスと、から構成される微孔質領域を備える。構造マトリックスは、直径が0.3〜1.0μの開いた孔を画定するように、イオノマ内の微孔質領域にわたって分散される。微孔質領域は、膜の第1の接触面と第2の接触面との間に配置されるとともに第1の接触面または第2の接触面の一方のみに隣接する、もしくは微孔質領域は、第1の接触面および第2の接触面のどちらとも隣接しない。実施例の全てにおいて、微孔質領域は、膜の第1の接触面と第2の接触面との間に延びない。複合電解質膜は、燃料電池の電極触媒に隣接して固定される。
Claims (6)
- 第1の電極触媒(32)および第2の電極触媒(34)を備えた燃料電池(30)用の複合電解質膜(10)であって、
膜(10)によって画定された対向する第1の接触面(12)と第2の接触面(14)との間に連続的に延びるとともに陽イオン交換樹脂から成る水和した超微孔質イオノマであるイオノマ構成要素(16)と、
前記イオノマ構成要素(16)と、粒子状材料、ウィスカ材料または繊維材料から成る群から選択されるとともに開いた孔の直径が0.3〜1.0μである前記イオノマ構成要素(16)内の構造マトリックス(20)と、から構成される微孔質領域(18)と、
を備え、
前記微孔質領域(18)は、前記膜(10)の前記第1の接触面(12)と前記第2の接触面(14)との間にあるとともに、前記第1の接触面(12)または前記第2の接触面(14)のどちらかのみに隣接するように配置される、もしくは前記第1の接触面(12)および前記第2の接触面(14)のどちらにも隣接しないように配置され、
前記膜(10)は、燃料電池(30)の電極触媒(32,34)に隣接して固定されることを特徴とする複合電解質膜(10)。 - 前記微孔質領域(18)は、前記膜(10)の前記第1の接触面(12)に隣接して配置され、前記膜の前記第1の接触面(12)は、前記燃料電池(30)のカソード電極触媒(32)に隣接して固定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の複合電解質膜(10)。
- 前記微孔質領域(18)は、前記膜(10)の前記第1の接触面(12)に隣接して配置され、前記膜(10)の前記第1の接触面(12)は、前記燃料電池(30)のカソード電極触媒(32)に隣接して固定され、前記膜(10)の前記第2の接触面(14)は、アノード電極触媒(34)に隣接して固定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の複合電解質膜(10)。
- 前記微孔質領域(18)は、第1のイオノマ化合物層(22)と第2のイオノマ化合物層(24)との間に固定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の複合電解質膜(10)。
- 前記微孔質領域(18)の前記構造マトリックス(20)は、電気伝導性であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の複合電解質膜(10)。
- a.第1の反応物を第1の電極触媒(32)に隣接させて流すステップと、第2の反応物を第2の電極触媒(34)に隣接させて流すステップと、
b.前記電極触媒(32,34)の一方において生じた生成水を前記第1の電極触媒(32)と前記第2の電極触媒(34)との間に固定された複合電解質膜(10)の微孔質領域(18)内に画定される孔へ流すステップと、
c.前記微孔質領域(18)によって画定される前記孔内の水を前記膜(10)のイオノマ構成要素(16)によって画定される孔へ流すステップと、
d.前記複合電解質膜(10)内に蓄えられた前記水を前記電極触媒(32,34)の他方に流すステップと、
を備えた燃料電池(30)内の水移動管理方法。
