P2O5 2.5〜3.5%等
が存在する場合がある。
P2O5の割合が高いので、このスラグの製鉄プロセスの中への再循環は制限される。塩基性酸素炉スラグのP2O5含有量は、製鋼量に基づき2〜3.5%の範囲である場合がある。
従って、本発明の主要目的は、塩基性酸素炉スラグを、これまで使用されてきた用途よりも有利な用途に使用することである。
本発明のもう1つの目的は、流動性を有する塩基性酸素炉スラグ、製鋼が行われる間に生じる廃棄物を処理して、様々な建設用途に適したセメント特性(cementitious properties)を得ることである。
鉄鋼は、鉄鋼取鍋(steel ladle)の中に出した後、製鋼容器から除去してスラグポット(slag pot)の中に入れる。スラグを製鋼容器から除去する間、十分な量のホタル石(フッ化カルシウム)をスラグポットの中に添加することによって、該スラグを流動化させる。このことによって、純石灰の同化(assimilation)が可能となり、更に、金属がある程度キャリオーバーする(carryover;持ち逃げする)か、又は、該スラグポットの底部に沈降する。該スラグを急冷するために、該スラグポットを最近接の急冷ピット(quenching pit)まで移動する。
溶融スラグは、急冷又は造粒化を行った後、3mm以下の粒度に粉砕し、次いで、磁気分離機を通過させて、該スラグの金属分画を分離する。
3mm以下の非金属スラグは、水和反応の間、ケイ酸カルシウムの網状組織を改善するために、触媒として作用するセッコウと一緒に粉砕することができる。

処理された塩基性酸素炉スラグから、機械造型法(machine molding)を用いて、固体レンガを作ることができる。様々な配合量の固体レンガの試験結果を、下の表3に示す。
Claims (6)
- 塩基性酸素炉スラグを、組積用ブロック、平板、レンガ及びタイルのための水硬結合剤やセメント製品のための混合物や、様々な用途のためのモルタルのような建設材料に転化するための方法において、
溶融スラグにホタル石を0〜3%添加して、前記溶融スラグの流動性を増大させる工程と、
溶融して液化したスラグを冷却することによって、前記液化スラグを固化する工程と、
そのスラグを3mm以下の粒度に粉砕する工程と、
磁気分離機を使用して、前記スラグの金属分画を分離する工程と、
非金属分画の用途に応じて、前記非金属分画を約3000〜4000cm2/gに粉砕する工程と、
を含む方法。 - 前記液化スラグを流動化させるために添加される前記ホタル石が、3%である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- セッコウの形態の触媒を、前記の3mm以下の粒度のスラグの非金属分画と混合し、次いで、粉砕する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- セッコウを含有する前記スラグ、又は、セッコウを含有しない前記スラグの粉砕を約3500cm2/gまで行う、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記流動化したスラグの冷却を、1500〜1200℃の温度範囲からランナーによって造粒化することによって行う、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記流動化したスラグの冷却を、1500〜1200℃の温度範囲から水噴霧を使用して冷却急冷することによって行う、請求項1に記載の方法。
