Abstract
【解決手段】第1燃料タンクにはアルコールとガソリンとの混合燃料が貯留され、第2燃料タンクにはガソリン燃料が貯留される。混合燃料及びガソリン燃料が流通する供給路にアルコール濃度センサが配置され、内燃機関の電子制御装置はアルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料を混合燃料とガソリン燃料とで切り替える。電子制御装置は、アルコール濃度センサによって検出される混合燃料のアルコール濃度に基づいて燃料噴射量を制御する。電子制御装置は、ガソリン燃料に切り替えられたときにアルコール濃度センサの検出値がガソリン燃料のアルコール濃度に対応する所定範囲から外れていることを条件にアルコール濃度センサの故障と判定するアルコール濃度センサの故障判定処理を実行する。

Description
請求項1に記載の発明は、アルコールを含む第1燃料を貯留する第1燃料タンクと、アルコール濃度が既知の第2燃料を貯留する第2燃料タンクと、前記第1燃料及び前記第2燃料が流通する供給経路に配置されるアルコール濃度センサとを備え、前記第1燃料と前記第2燃料とを切り替えるとともに同センサによって検出される同第1燃料のアルコール濃度に基づいて燃料噴射量を制御する内燃機関の制御装置であって、前記第2燃料に切り替えられたときに前記センサの検出値が同第2燃料のアルコール濃度に対応する所定範囲から外れていることを条件に同センサの故障と判定する故障判定手段を備えることをその要旨とする。
図1は、本実施形態における内燃機関10及びその周辺構成を示している。同図1に示すように、内燃機関10の気筒11には、ピストン12が往復動可能に収納されている。同ピストン12はコネクティングロッド17を介してクランクシャフト15に連結されている。このクランクシャフト15には、その回転位相を検出するクランクポジションセンサ15aが取り付けられている。さらに、内燃機関10には、同内燃機関10を冷却する冷却水が流通するウォータジャケット16が設けられているとともに、同ウォータジャケット16を流れる冷却水の温度を検出する水温センサ16aが取り付けられている。
(1)第2燃料タンク70に貯留される第2燃料であるガソリン燃料Gのアルコール濃度は既知であり、故障判定手段はガソリン燃料Gに切り替えられたときにアルコール濃度センサ65aの検出値がガソリン燃料Gのアルコール濃度に対応する所定範囲から外れていることを条件にアルコール濃度センサ65aの故障と判定するため、アルコール濃度センサ65aの検出値に基づいて直接アルコール濃度センサ65aの故障を判定することができる。したがって、アルコール濃度センサ65aの故障をより正確に判定することができる。
・上記実施形態においては、アルコール濃度センサ65aから検出された補正前の検出値と、第2燃料タンク70内に貯留されるガソリン燃料Gの実際のアルコール濃度に対応する適切な検出値とを比較して、その差を補正値として設定するようにした。しかしながら、補正前の検出値と適切な検出値との比を補正値として設定し、アルコール濃度センサ65aの検出値に同補正値を乗算することにより検出値を補正するようにしてもよい。
Claims (5)
- アルコールを含む第1燃料を貯留する第1燃料タンクと、アルコール濃度が既知の第2燃料を貯留する第2燃料タンクと、前記第1燃料及び前記第2燃料が流通する供給経路に配置されるアルコール濃度センサとを備え、前記第1燃料と前記第2燃料とを切り替えるとともに同センサによって検出される同第1燃料のアルコール濃度に基づいて燃料噴射量を制御する内燃機関の制御装置であって、
前記第2燃料に切り替えられたときに前記センサの検出値が同第2燃料のアルコール濃度に対応する所定範囲から外れていることを条件に同センサの故障と判定する故障判定手段を備える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 請求項1に記載の内燃機関の制御装置において、
前記第1燃料タンクと前記第2燃料タンクとで前記アルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料タンクを切り替える切替手段を備え、
前記切替手段は、前記内燃機関の始動に際して前記アルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料タンクを前記第2燃料タンクに切り替え、同内燃機関の始動後に前記アルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料タンクを前記第1燃料タンクに切り替える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 請求項1に記載の内燃機関の制御装置において、
前記第1燃料タンクと前記第2燃料タンクとで前記アルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料タンクを切り替える切替手段を備え、
前記切替手段は、前記アルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料タンクを前記第1燃料タンクから一時的に前記第2燃料タンクに切り替え、前記故障判定手段による判定の終了後に前記アルコール濃度センサに連通する燃料タンクを前記第1燃料タンクに切り替える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置において、
前記第2燃料に切り替えられたときの前記アルコール濃度センサの検出値が前記所定範囲内であるときに、同検出値を前記第2燃料のアルコール濃度に対応する検出値となるように補正する補正手段をさらに備える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関の制御装置において、
前記第2燃料タンクには前記第2燃料としてガソリンが貯留される
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。
