Abstract
【解決手段】ディジタル信号プロセッサは、衛星、地上およびケーブル伝送チャネルなどの、多種類のチャネルから受信した信号を選択的に復調し、復号化する。受信した信号は、TVピクチャ情報などの圧縮ディジタル・ビデオ情報を表しており、複数の符号化フォーマット(例えば、選択可能なコード・レートのトレリスまたはパンクチャド・コード)の1つので符号化されている。また、受信信号は複数のフォーマット(例えば、PAM、QAMまたはPSK)の1つで変調される。復調器は、複数の変調フォーマットの1つで変調された信号を選択的に復調し、復号化器は、複数の符号化フォーマットの1つで符号化された復調信号を選択的に復号化する。

Claims (1)
- 装置であって、
QAMおよびPSKを含む複数の変調フォーマットから選択された一つの変調フォーマットに従って、他種類の伝送チャネルの少なくとも一つから前記装置によって入力され、複数の変調フォーマットのうちのひとつの変調フォーマットを表し、および、少なくとも一つのパンクチャド符号化フォーマットを含む複数の符号化フォーマットのうちの少なくとも一つの符号化フォーマットで符号化された圧縮されたデジタル・データを表す、変調された信号を選択的に復調して、復調された信号を生成する復調器、および
前記圧縮されたデジタル・データが符号化されている前記少なくとも一つの符号化フォーマットを決定し、前記決定された符号化フォーマットに従って、前記復調された信号を復号する復号器、
を備えることを特徴とする装置。
