Abstract
【解決手段】偏光子の少なくとも片面に透明保護フィルムを設けるために用いる偏光板用接着剤であって、前記偏光板用接着剤は、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂、架橋剤およびアセチレン骨格を有する化合物を含有するレベリング剤を含有してなる樹脂溶液であり、かつ、前記レベリング剤は、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂100重量部に対して、0.01〜10重量部の割合で配合されていることを特徴とする偏光板用接着剤。

Description
前記偏光板用接着剤は、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂、架橋剤およびアセチレン骨格を有する化合物を含有するレベリング剤を含有してなる樹脂溶液であり、かつ、
前記レベリング剤は、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂100重量部に対して、0.01〜10重量部の割合で配合されていることを特徴とする偏光板用接着剤、に関する。
前記偏光板用接着剤を調製する工程、
透明保護フィルム上に前記偏光板用接着剤を塗布し、接着剤層を形成する工程、
偏光子と前記接着剤層が形成された透明保護フィルムとを、前記接着剤層により貼り合わせる工程を有することを特徴とする偏光板の製造方法、に関する。
前記偏光板用接着剤を調製する工程、
透明保護フィルム上に前記偏光板用接着剤を塗布した後、乾燥により、当該透明保護フィルム上に接着剤層を形成する工程、
偏光子と前記接着剤層が形成された透明保護フィルムとを、前記接着剤層により貼り合わせる工程を有することを特徴とする偏光板の製造方法、に関する。
(偏光子)
平均重合度2400、ケン化度99.9モル%の厚み75μmのポリビニルアルコールフィルムを、30℃の温水中に60秒間浸漬し膨潤させた。次いで、ヨウ素/ヨウ化カリウム(重量比=0.5/8)の濃度0.3%の水溶液に浸漬し、3.5倍まで延伸させながらフィルムを染色した。その後、65℃のホウ酸エステル水溶液中で、トータルの延伸倍率が6倍となるように延伸を行った。延伸後に、40℃のオーブンにて3分間乾燥を行い、偏光子を得た。
一方の透明保護フィルム1として、厚さ40μmのトリアセチルセルロースフィルムを用いた。もう一方の透明保護フィルム2として、厚さ70μmの二軸延伸を行ったノルボルネン系フィルム(日本ゼオン(株)製,ゼオノア)を用いた。
アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂(平均重合度:1200,ケン化度:98.5モル%,アセトアセチル化度:5モル%)100部に対し、メチロールメラミン35部、アセチレン骨格を有する化合物を含有するレベリング剤(日信化学工業(株)製の商品名オルフィンEXP4123,固形分濃度40%,分散媒として、重量比で、水/プロピレグリコール=10/50を含有)0.15部を、30℃の温度条件下に、純水に溶解し、固形分濃度1%に調整した水溶液を調製した。
上記2種類の透明保護フィルム1、2のそれぞれの片面に、上記接着剤を乾燥後の接着剤層の厚みが100nmとなるように塗布した。接着剤の塗布は、その調製から30分間後に30℃の温度条件下で行なった。次いで、上記接着剤の塗布された透明保護フィルムを90℃で1分間乾燥させて、接着剤層付きの透明保護フィルムを2枚得た。これら2枚の接着剤層付きの透明保護フィルムを、上記偏光子の両面にロール機で貼り合せて偏光板を作成した。
実施例1において、接着剤の調製あたり、表1に示すように各成分の種類、使用割合を変えたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして接着剤を調製した。また、得られた接着剤を用いて、実施例1と同様にして偏光板を作成した。
実施例2において、透明保護フィルム2として、厚さ70μmの二軸延伸を行ったノルボルネン系フィルムの代わりに、厚さ40μmのポリメタクリル酸メチル樹脂(三菱レーヨン(株)製,アクリペットVH)を用いたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして偏光板を作成した。
実施例および比較例で得られた偏光板等について下記評価を行なった。
各例において、得られた偏光板についてその状態で見えるムラの有無を以下の基準で目視確認した。
◎:得られた偏光板には、ムラが暗室内であっても見えず、画像表示不良がない。
○:得られた偏光板には、ムラが暗室内で確認できるが、画像表示不良がない。
×:得られた偏光板には、ムラが確認でき、画像表示に影響がある。
なお、偏光板のムラは、表面形状測定装置(WYKO NT3300,松下テクノトレーディング(株)製)により測定し、図1に示すようなリング状の形状が確認されるような場合は、目視において「×」と評価できる。
偏光板を、偏光子の吸収軸方向に50mm、吸収軸に直交する方向に25mmになるように切り出してサンプルを調製した。当該サンプルを、60℃の温水に浸漬し、時間経過とともにサンプルの端部が剥がれるまでの時間を測定した。
得られた偏光板の幅方向中央部から50mm×25mmの大きさで、偏光板の吸収軸が長辺に対して45°となるようにサンプルを切り出し、積分球式透過率測定機((株)村上色彩研究所製:DOT−3C)を用いて、単体透過率(%)を測定した。単体透過率(%)の変化量は、を測定した。得られた直後の偏光板の単体透過率(T1)は、いずれも、42.5%であった。また、偏光板を作成した後、500時間経過した後の単体透過率(T2)を測定した。単体透過率の変化量は、T2/T1、である。前記変化量が、±3%の場合を◎、±5%の場合を○、±10%の場合を×、として表1に示す。
アセチレン系は、アセチレン骨格を有する化合物を含有するレベリング剤(日信化学工業(株)製の商品名オルフィンEXP4123,固形分濃度40%,分散媒として、重量比で、水/プロピレグリコール=10/50を含有)、
フッ素系は、パーフルオロアルキルエチレンオキサイド付加物を含有するレベリング剤(大日本インキ化学工業(株)製の商品名メガファックF‐443,固形分濃度100%)、
シリコーン系は、ビッグケミー・ジャパン(株)製の商品名BYK‐345、を示す。
Claims (13)
- 偏光子の少なくとも片面に透明保護フィルムを設けるために用いる偏光板用接着剤であって、
前記偏光板用接着剤は、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂、架橋剤およびアセチレン骨格を有する化合物を含有するレベリング剤を含有してなる樹脂溶液であり、かつ、
前記レベリング剤は、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂100重量部に対して、0.01〜10重量部の割合で配合されていることを特徴とする偏光板用接着剤。 - 前記レベリング剤は、アセチレン骨格を有する化合物を含有する水分散体または水溶液であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 前記水分散体が、アルキレングリコールを含有することを特徴とする請求項2記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- アセチレン骨格を有する化合物が、アセチレングリコール類のエチレンオキサイド付加物および/またはプロピレンオキサイド付加物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂が、アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 架橋剤が、メチロール基を有する化合物を含有することを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 架橋剤の配合量が、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂100重量部に対して、1〜60重量部であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 偏光子の少なくとも一方の面に、接着剤層を介して透明保護フィルムが設けられている偏光板において、前記接着剤層が請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤により形成されていることを特徴とする偏光板。
- 接着剤層の厚みが、10〜300nmであることを特徴とする請求項8記載の偏光板。
- 偏光子の少なくとも一方の面に、接着剤層を介して透明保護フィルムが設けられている請求項8または9記載の偏光板を製造する方法であって、
請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤を調製する工程、
透明保護フィルム上に前記偏光板用接着剤を塗布し、接着剤層を形成する工程、
偏光子と前記接着剤層が形成された透明保護フィルムとを、前記接着剤層により貼り合わせる工程を有することを特徴とする偏光板の製造方法。 - 偏光子の少なくとも一方の面に、接着剤層を介して透明保護フィルムが設けられている請求項8または9記載の偏光板を製造する方法であって、
請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の偏光板用接着剤を調製する工程、
透明保護フィルム上に前記偏光板用接着剤を塗布した後、乾燥により、当該透明保護フィルム上に接着剤層を形成する工程、
偏光子と前記接着剤層が形成された透明保護フィルムとを、前記接着剤層により貼り合わせる工程を有することを特徴とする偏光板の製造方法。 - 請求項8または9記載の偏光板が、少なくとも1枚積層されていることを特徴とする光学フィルム。
- 請求項8もしくは9記載の偏光板または請求項12記載の光学フィルムが用いられていることを特徴とする画像表示装置。
