Claims (9)
- エンジン本体に複数の気筒を備え、前記エンジン本体の気筒配列方向に対して一方側となる吸気側エンジン本体側面に吸気通路部材が、他方側となる排気側エンジン本体側面に排気通路部材が各々配設され、前記吸気通路部材と前記排気通路部材とを連通接続して排気ガスを排気側より吸気側に還流する排ガス還流通路部材を備えた内燃機関であって、
前記エンジン本体の気筒配列方向の一方のエンジン本体端部に、前記吸気側エンジン本体側面と前記排気側エンジン本体側面とを結ぶ方向に延在するオーバハング部を備え、
前記排ガス還流通路部材は、前記オーバハング部の下方空間部に、前記エンジン本体端部との間に空隙を存した状態で配設されていることを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 前記排ガス還流通路部材は、前記エンジン本体端部または前記オーバハング部の壁面と対向しない非対向部を有し、当該非対向部を非接触状態で覆う遮熱板が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記遮熱板は、上端部を前記オーバハング部に取り付けられ、下方側に向けて垂下された態様で延出し、前記オーバハング部の下方空間部を含む排ガス還流通路部材延在空間を画定していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記エンジン本体端部は、前記オーバハング部の前記遮熱板の取付部より上方位置に、燃料ポンプが取り付けられる燃料ポンプ取付面部を備え、前記遮熱板は前記燃料ポンプ取付面部と前記排ガス還流通路部材の配設部とを隔成するように延在していることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記オーバハング部の前記遮熱板の取付部よりも上方であって、前記燃料ポンプ取付面部よりも下方に、前記エンジン本体端部から前記オーバハング部の突出方向と同じ方向に突出したリブが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記リブの先端は、前記遮熱板の前記オーバハング部に対する取付部より外側にまで突出していることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記リブは鉛直方向に対して傾斜した傾斜部位を含み、前記遮熱板は、前記リブの前記傾斜部位の最下部の下方に位置する箇所に、前記リブの根元側に凹んだ凹み部を有することを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記遮熱板は前記凹み部をもって前記エンジン本体端部に固定されていることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記排ガス還流通路部材は、前記エンジン本体と非接触で、前記エンジン本体と直接的な熱伝導関係にないことを特徴とする請求項1から8の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関。
