Claims (10)

  1. 第１の光学特性を含む光を放出する光源と、
    出力面を含む光導波路であって、前記光源により放出された前記光の少なくとも一部分
    を前記出力面に対して向けるように構成された光導波路と、
    前記光導波路の前記出力面からの光を受光するように配置されている電子放出性物質で
    あって、前記第１の光学特性を含む光で照明されると第２の光学特性を含む光を放出する
    電子放出性物質と、
    前記光導波路の前記出力面と前記電子放出性物質との間に配置されている第１の干渉反
    射体であって、前記第１の光学特性を含む光を実質的に透過するとともに前記第２の光学
    特性を含む光を実質的に反射する第１の干渉反射体と、
    を含む照明システム。
  2. 前記電子放出性物質が不連続である、請求項１に記載の照明システム。
  3. 前記不連続電子放出性物質が電子放出性物質の多数のドットを含む、請求項２に記載の
    照明システム。
  4. 前記第１の光学特性が第１の波長域を含むとともに、前記第２の光学特性が前記第１の
    波長域とは異なる第２の波長域を含み、少なくとも第１の蛍光体ドットが前記第２の波長
    域内の第１のピーク波長を有する光を放出するとともに、少なくとも第２の蛍光体ドット
    が前記第１のピーク波長とは異なる前記第２の波長域内の第２のピーク波長を有する光を
    放出する、請求項３に記載の照明システム。
  5. 前記第１の光学特性が第１の波長域を含むとともに、前記第２の光学特性が前記第１の
    波長域とは異なる第２の波長域を含み、前記電子放出性物質が前記第１の波長域において
    第１の屈折率を含む、請求項１に記載の照明システム。
  6. 前記第１の干渉反射体と前記電子放出性物質との間で前記電子放出性物質と接している
    ＴＩＲ促進層をさらに含み、さらに前記ＴＩＲ促進層が前記第１の波長域において前記第
    １の屈折率より小さい第２の屈折率を含む、請求項５に記載の照明システム。
  7. 前記電子放出性物質が第２の干渉反射体と前記第１の干渉反射体との間にあるように配
    置された第２の干渉反射体をさらに含み、前記第２の干渉反射体が前記第２の光学特性を
    含む光を実質的に透過するとともに前記第１の光学特性を含む光を実質的に反射する、請
    求項１に記載の照明システム。
  8. 請求項１に記載の照明システムを含む標識。
  9. 照明システムであって、
    第１の光学特性を含む光を放出する光源と、
    出力面を含む光導波路であって、前記光源により放出された光の少なくとも一部分を
    前記出力面に対して向けるように構成された光導波路と、
    前記光導波路の前記出力面からの光を受光するように配置されている電子放出性物質
    であって、前記第１の光学特性を含む光で照明されると第２の光学特性を含む光を放出す
    る電子放出性物質と、前記電子放出性物質と前記光導波路の前記出力面との間に配置され
    ている第１の干渉反射体であって、前記第１の光学特性を含む光を実質的に透過すると共に前記第２の光学特性を含む光を実質的に反射する第１の干渉反射体と、を含む照明シ
    ステムと、
    前記照明システムに光学的に結合されている空間光変調器であって、前記照明システム
    からの光の少なくとも一部分を変調するように動作可能な多数の制御可能要素を含む空間
    光変調器と、を含むディスプレイ。
  10. 前記照明システムは、前記電子放出性物質が第２の干渉反射体と前記第１の干渉反射体
    との間にあるように配置された第２の干渉反射体をさらに含み、前記第２の干渉反射体が
    前記第２の光学特性を含む光を実質的に透過するとともに前記第１の光学特性を含む光を
    実質的に反射する、請求項９に記載のディスプレイ。
