Abstract
【解決手段】排気通路にターボ過給機1のタービン2を配設し、タービン2の下流側にタービン2に近接させて空燃比センサ19を配設し、タービン2の排気口4の軸心C線上又はその付近に空燃比センサ19の素子部25を位置させる。タービン2の排気口4直後ではタービンホイール5の回転方向と同一方向の排ガス旋回流が生じ、排ガス中の凝縮水は排ガス旋回流により遠心分離される。排気口4の軸心線付近では凝縮水が実質的に無い状態となり、その位置で排ガスを素子部25に接触させられるので、素子部25の被水及び素子割れを防止できる。

Claims (7)
- 排気通路にターボ過給機のタービンを配設し、前記タービンの下流側に前記タービンに近接させて空燃比センサを配設した内燃機関において、
前記空燃比センサが、排ガスに接触する素子部と、該素子部を覆うカバーとを備え、
前記カバーが、前記排気通路内の排ガスを前記素子部に導くための穴を備え、
前記排気口の軸心線上又はその付近に前記穴が位置するように前記空燃比センサを配置したことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 前記タービンのタービンホイールをバイパスして排ガスを流通させるバイパス通路が設けられ、該バイパス通路の出口が、前記排気口から前記空燃比センサまでの間の前記吸気通路に接線方向に開口されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の内燃機関。
- 少なくとも前記排気口から前記空燃比センサまでの間の前記排気通路に、半径方向外側に窪まされた凹部が設けられることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の内燃機関。
- 前記凹部が、前記排気通路の周方向に沿った溝からなることを特徴とする請求項3記載の内燃機関。
- 前記溝が、前記排気口から前記空燃比センサまでの間の所定位置から前記空燃比センサの下流側の所定位置まで延びる螺旋状の溝からなることを特徴とする請求項4記載の内燃機関。
- 前記排気口の下流側の前記排気通路に屈曲部が形成され、前記空燃比センサが前記屈曲部に前記排気口の軸心線と同軸に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5いずれかに記載の内燃機関。
- 前記屈曲部が90°の角度で屈曲されていることを特徴とする請求項6記載の内燃機関。
