Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the sand grain of a printing plate and to enhance both the water retentivity and inking property by incorporating silica particles having a specific oil absorption into the printing plate. CONSTITUTION:This planographic printing plate is formed by utilizing the silver image part of silver halide image part formed by a photographic method as ink receptivity. The silica particles having about <=150 oil absorption in accordance with the method for testing specified in JIS K1501 are added to this plate. The particles may be added into >=1 layers among the emulsion layer, undercoating layer and intermediate layer of the plate and a desired amt. of the particles having a desired average grain size may be added thereto. The good sand grain is thereby formed on the plate and since the water retentivity and inking property are both improved, the plate which is free from scummings and defective deposition of ink and has excellent plate wear is obtd.
