Abstract
【解決手段】フィルタ再生のための排気昇温制御では、EGR弁36の動作を利用して排気温度の上昇を図る第1制御モードと、EGR弁36を利用せずに排気温度の上昇を図る第2制御モードとが、機関運転状態に応じて切り換えられる。そして、EGR弁36が全閉位置にて一時的な固着状態になると、排気昇温制御中、通常は第2制御モードの実施される領域全体で、同第2制御モードに代えて第1制御モードが実施される。このため、EGR弁36が全閉位置での一時的な固着状態のまま第2制御モードが実施されることを回避でき、その第2制御モードの実施に起因して排気昇温制御中に排気温度をフィルタ再生を行ううえで適切に上昇させられなくなることを回避できる。

Description
上記目的を達成するため、請求項1記載の発明では、機関運転時に動作される可動部材を備えるとともに同可動部材の動作を通じて排気温度が変化する内燃機関の排気浄化装置であって、排気浄化性能の回復を図るための再生処理を行う際に内燃機関の排気温度を上昇させる排気昇温制御を実施する内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、排気昇温制御中に、前記可動部材を利用せずに排気温度の上昇を図る第1制御モードと、同可動部材の動作を通じて排気温度の上昇を図る第2制御モードと、を機関運転領域に応じて切り換える切換手段と、前記可動部材の一時的な固着状態を検出する検出手段と、前記可動部材の一時的な固着状態が検出されたとき、全機関運転領域のうち、前記第1制御モードの実施される領域を前記第2制御モードの実施される領域側に拡大するとともに、それによって前記第2制御モードの実施される領域を縮小する制御手段と、を備えた。
図1は、本実施形態の制御装置が適用される内燃機関10の構成を示している。この内燃機関10は、コモンレール方式の燃料噴射装置、及びターボチャージャ11を備えるディーゼル機関となっており、大きくは吸気通路12、燃焼室13、及び排気通路14を備えて構成されている。
なお排気通路14の上記PMフィルタ26の上流側及び下流側には、PMフィルタ26に流入する排気の温度である入ガス温度を検出する入ガス温度センサ28、及びPMフィルタ26通過後の排気の温度である出ガス温度を検出する出ガス温度センサ29がそれぞれ配設されている。また排気通路14には、上記PMフィルタ26の排気上流側とその排気下流側との差圧を検出する差圧センサ30が配設されている。更に排気通路14の上記NOx触媒コンバータ25の排気上流側、及び上記PMフィルタ26と上記酸化触媒コンバータ27との間には、排気中の酸素濃度を検出する2つの酸素センサ31、32がそれぞれ配設されている。
こうした再生処理の一つとして、例えばNOx触媒コンバータ25及びPMフィルタ26でのPMによる目詰まりを防止すべく、それらNOx触媒コンバータ25及びPMフィルタ26など排気系に堆積したPMを燃焼(酸化)させて浄化するフィルタ再生があげられる。ただし、同フィルタ再生を行うには、上記NOx触媒コンバータ25やPMフィルタ26を十分に高温化する必要がある。このため、フィルタ再生の実行時には、内燃機関10の排気温度の上昇を図る排気昇温制御を行ったうえで、上記NOx触媒コンバータ25やPMフィルタ26のNOx触媒に未燃燃料成分を供給し、触媒床温を上記PMの燃焼に必要な値(例えば600〜700℃)まで上昇される。なお、このときの触媒への未燃燃料成分の供給は、添加弁46からの排気に対する燃料添加等によって行われる。
この排気昇温制御では、内燃機関10の運転時の動作を通じて排気温度に影響を及ぼす可動部材を利用して、内燃機関10における排気温度の上昇が図られる。こうした可動部材として、本実施形態ではEGR弁36が用いられることとなる。具体的には、排気昇温制御中にEGR弁36が通常時よりも開き側の開度となるよう開度制御されてEGR量が大とされ、これにより内燃機関10の排気温度の上昇が図られる。
(1)EGR弁36が全閉位置にて一時的な固着状態になると、フィルタ再生のための排気昇温制御中、通常は第2制御モードの実施される領域全体(図2の領域B)で、同第2制御モードに代えて第1制御モードが実施され、その第1制御モードにより排気温度の上昇が図られるようになる。このため、EGR弁36が全閉位置での一時的な固着状態のまま第2制御モードが実施されることを回避でき、その第2制御モードの実施に起因して排気昇温制御中に排気温度をフィルタ再生を行ううえで適切に上昇させられなくなることを回避できる。
・EGR弁36の一時的な固着が解消したとき、第1制御モード及び第2制御モードの実施領域を必ずしも通常の状態に戻す必要はない。
Claims (5)
- 機関運転時に動作される可動部材を備えるとともに同可動部材の動作を通じて排気温度が変化する内燃機関の排気浄化装置であって、排気浄化性能の回復を図るための再生処理を行う際に内燃機関の排気温度を上昇させる排気昇温制御を実施する内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
排気昇温制御中に、前記可動部材を利用せずに排気温度の上昇を図る第1制御モードと、同可動部材の動作を通じて排気温度の上昇を図る第2制御モードと、を機関運転領域に応じて切り換える切換手段と、
前記可動部材の一時的な固着状態を検出する検出手段と、
前記可動部材の一時的な固着状態が検出されたとき、全機関運転領域のうち、前記第1制御モードの実施される領域を前記第2制御モードの実施される領域側に拡大するとともに、それによって前記第2制御モードの実施される領域を縮小する制御手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記可動部材が一時的な固着状態にあるとき、通常時に前記第2制御モードの実施される領域全体を前記第1制御モードの実施される領域とする
請求項1記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記可動部材の一時的な固着が解消されたとき、前記第1制御モードの実施される領域及び前記第2制御モードの実施される領域を通常の状態に戻す
請求項1又は2記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記可動部材はEGR弁であり、前記排気昇温制御は内燃機関の排気系に設けられて粒子状物質を捕集するフィルタに堆積した粒子状物質を燃焼させて除去すべく実施されるものであって、
前記排気昇温制御の実行中においては、前記EGR弁の一時的な固着状態でない条件のもと、機関低負荷領域にて前記EGR弁を全閉状態として排気温度の上昇を図る第1制御モードとなり、この第1制御モードの実施される領域よりも機関高負荷側にて前記EGR弁を通常時よりも開き側に動作させて排気温度の上昇を図る第2制御モードとなる
請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記第1制御モード及び前記第2制御モードでは、吸気絞り弁の開度制御、排気絞り弁の開度制御、燃焼室への主燃料噴射後に行われる燃料噴射であるアフター噴射の実行、及び可変容量ターボチャージャの容量制御のうちの少なくとも一つを通じて排気温度の上昇が図られ、
前記第1制御モードの実施される領域が拡大されたとき、その拡大した部分では、吸気絞り弁の開度制御、排気絞り弁の開度制御、燃焼室への主燃料噴射後に行われる燃料噴射であるアフター噴射の実行、及び可変容量ターボチャージャの容量制御のうち第2制御モードで実施されるものが、同第2制御モードの実施時と比較して排気温度をより上昇させる態様で行われる
請求項4記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
