Abstract
Description
識別。これは汎用メモリに関連し、典型的にはEEPROM(電気的消去可能及び書き込み可能な読み出し専用メモリ)又は他の不揮発性メモリに関連する。メモリはシリアル通信標準を利用してアクセス可能であってよく、このメモリは、送受信機のタイプ、性能、シリアル番号及び様々な標準との互換性を識別する様々な情報を保存するために利用される。標準ではないが、このメモリは、副部品補修データ及び工場試験データのような追加情報をも保存してよい。
監視機能。送受信機の動作特性及び動作環境に関連する様々なパラメータを監視する。監視されるかもしれないパラメータの例は、レーザーバイアス電流、レーザー出力電力、受信機出力レベル、供給電圧及び温度を含む。理想的には、これらのパラメータはホスト機器に監視されて報告され、或いはホスト機器で利用可能になり、従って、その送受信機の利用者にも利用可能となる。
マージニング(margining)。「マージニング」は、末端の利用者に送受信機の性能を理想的な動作条件からの既知の偏差で試験させる機構であり、一般的に駆動信号を拡大・縮小することにより送受信機の活性化部位を制御するために利用される。
Claims (23)
- 送受信機であって、
物理リンクを伝わる送信のための物理層信号を生成するように構成された信号電源と、
前記信号電源に結合する高速データ変調器であって、前記信号電源は物理層信号を前記データ信号変調器から受信される高速データ信号と共に変調するように設定された、高速データ変調器と、
前記信号電源に接続される帯域外データ変調器であって、前記信号電源が前記帯域外データ変調器から受信される帯域外データに応答して物理層信号を変調するように構成され、前記高速データ変調器及び帯域外データ変調器による変調により高速データ及び帯域外データを含む二重変調信号の出力が生成される、帯域外データ変調器と、
を備える送受信機。 - 前記送受信機は光送受信機であり、
前記信号電源はレーザー駆動回路及びレーザーを備え、
前記送受信機は、前記レーザーによる平均電力出力を制御するように構成された平均電力バイアス回路を更に備え、前記帯域外データ変調器が前記平均電力バイアス回路に接続される、
請求項1に記載の送受信機。 - 前記送受信機は光送受信機であり、
前記信号電源はレーザー駆動回路及びレーザーを備え、
前記レーザー駆動回路は前記レーザーによる信号出力の消光比を制御するように構成された消光比命令入力を更に備え、前記帯域外データ変調器が前記消光比命令入力に接続される、
請求項1に記載の送受信機。 - 前記送受信機は光送受信機であり、
前記信号電源はレーザー駆動回路及びレーザーを備え、
前記送受信機は、前記レーザーによる平均電力出力を制御するように構成された平均電力バイアス回路を更に備え、前記帯域外データ変調器が前記平均電力バイアス回路に接続され、
前記レーザー駆動回路は前記レーザーによる信号出力の消光比を制御するように構成された消光比命令入力を更に備え、前記帯域外データ変調器が前記消光比命令入力に接続される、
請求項1に記載の送受信機。 - 前記送受信機は光送受信機であり、
前記信号電源はレーザー駆動回路及びレーザーを備え、
前記レーザー駆動回路は、高速データ1が出力されるとき、前記レーザによる前記電力出力を規定する高速データ1レベル命令を更に備え、前記帯域データ変調器は前記高速データ1レベル命令に接続される、
請求項1に記載の送受信機。 - 前記帯域外データ変調器が、位相偏移変調、二進位相偏移変調、四位相偏移変調及びマンチェスター符号化のうち少なくとも1つを利用して変調するように構成される、請求項1に記載の送受信機。
- 前記帯域外データ変調器が識別情報及び認証情報を変調するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の送受信機。
- 前記帯域外データ変調器が前記送受信機の状態を含む診断情報を変調するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の送受信機。
- 前記帯域外データ変調器が設定データを変調するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の送受信機。
- 物理リンクから物理層信号を受信し、前記物理層信号から入力変調二重信号を生成するように構成されている信号受信要素と、
前記信号受信要素に接続され、前記入力変調二重信号から帯域外データを抽出するように構成されている帯域外検出器と、
前記信号受信要素に接続され、前記入力変調二重信号から高速データを抽出するように構成された高速データ増幅器と、
を更に備える、請求項1に記載の送受信機。 - 前記帯域外検出器がIR受信機を備える、請求項10に記載の送受信機。
- 物理リンク上でデータを送信する方法であって、
高速データを有するデータ信号を変調すること、
帯域外データを有する前記データ信号を変調することを備え、前記高速データ及び前記帯域外データを有する前記データ信号を変調することにより、物理リンク上で送信するための物理層信号である二重変調信号の出力が生成される方法。 - 前記変調されたデータ信号を変調することは、前記物理層信号の平均電力を変化させることを備える、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記変調されたデータ信号を変調することは、前記物理層信号のピーク電力を変化させることを備える、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記変調されたデータ信号を変調することは、前記物理層信号の消光比を変化させることを備える、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 高速データ及び帯域外データを含む入力変調二重信号を受信すること、
前記入力変調二重信号から高速データを抽出すること、
前記入力変調二重信号から帯域外データを抽出すること、
を更に備える、請求項12に記載の方法。 - 前記入力変調二重信号から帯域外データを抽出することが、前記入力変調二重信号の平均電力を測定することを備える、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記入力変調二重信号から帯域外データを抽出することが、前記入力変調二重信号のピーク電力を測定することを備える、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記入力変調二重信号から帯域外データを抽出することが、前記入力変調二重信号の消光比を測定することを備える、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記変調されたデータ信号を変調することは、位相偏移変調、二進位相偏移変調、四位相偏移変調及びマンチェスター符号化のうち少なくとも1つに従って前記変調されたデータ信号を変調することを備える、請求項12に記載の方法。
- デジタルデータを受信及び送信するためのリピーターであって、
データ信号を受信するように構成された受信機と、
前記受信機に結合され、前記デジタル信号上で処理作業を実行するように構成された信号処理回路と、
前記信号処理回路に結合され、前記処理回路から前記データ信号を受信し、前記データ信号を送信するように構成された送信機と、
前記信号処理回路に結合される、前記データ信号上で帯域外データを抽出及び挿入するように構成された帯域外論理と、
を備えるリピーター。 - 前記帯域外論理は、
前記データ信号から帯域外データを抽出し、
前記リピーターのデジタル信号データに対応するデータを前記帯域外データに連結させ、且つ
前記リピーターのデジタル診断データに対応するデータを含む前記帯域外データを、前記データ信号に挿入するように構成されている、請求項21に記載のリピーター。 - 前記帯域外論理はマイクロプロセッサである、請求項21に記載のリピーター。
