1)隣接キャリア(NC:Neighbor Carrier)−これは、WTRUがその対応セルのBCCHチャンネルを読むことで獲得する、隣接セルのBCCHキャリアの一覧である。NC={f1、f2、・・・、fN}で表現されるこの一覧においては、N個のキャリアがあるものとみなされる。
Claims (31)
- 対応(serving)セル、少なくとも1つの隣接セル、および少なくとも1つのWTRU(Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit;無線送受信ユニット)を含む無線通信システムにおいて、該WTRUにおいて該指向性ビームアンテナを利用するための方法であって、
(a)該WTRUが該無線通信システムに登録するステップと、
(b)該WTRUが該対応セルおよび該隣接セルにより送信された信号を受信するステップと、
(c)該WTRUが、指向性ビームアンテナを方向制御しながら、複数の予め定められた方向のそれぞれで受信された信号の品質を測定するステップと、
(d)アクティブなビームとして、最良の信号品質を有する方向群の中の特定の1つを選択するステップと
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - (e)前記信号品質を予め定められた閾値と比較するステップと、
(f)該信号品質が該予め定められた閾値より低くない場合には前記アンテナのその時点の位置を維持し、および該信号品質が該予め定められた閾値より低い場合には、ステップ(c)および(d)を繰り返すステップと
をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記信号品質が受信信号強度表示(received signal strength indicator)およびキャリア対干渉比(carrier-to-interference ratio)の少なくとも一方に関して測定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記信号の品質が休止タイムスロット中に測定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUが前記隣接セルから信号を受信するものとは異なったフレームにおいて、前記WTRUが前記対応セルからの信号を受信することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記対応セルから信号を受信する前記フレームが前記対応セルの放送制御チャンネル上の基地局識別番号を運ぶフレームと同一であるとして決定されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUが前記隣接セルとの同期をさらに獲得することであって、前記隣接セルから信号を受信するフレームが前記隣接セルの放送制御チャンネル上の基地局識別番号を運ぶフレームと同一であるとして決定されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記アクティブなビームを変える前に、前記WTRUが基地局識別番号を復号することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記アクティブなビームを変える前に、前記WTRUが基地局識別番号を復号しないことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記WTRUが無指向性ビームを使用して前記隣接セルから信号を受信することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- パイロットチャンネル、放送チャンネル、およびトラフィックチャンネルのうちの1つを介して前記対応セルから送信されるメッセージで、前記信号品質が測定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 1つの方向から受信された信号の品質を、データ系列を含むミッドアンブルの前半を使用して測定し、かつ別の方向から受信された信号の品質を前記ミッドアンブルの後半を使用して測定するようにして、2つの異なった方向から受信された信号の品質を前記ミッドアンブルと比較することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 1つのタイムスロットが複数の部分に分割され、かつそれぞれの方向に対する信号の品質が前記タイムスロットの異なった部分で測定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記最良の指向性ビームの選択が、それぞれの指向性ビームに対して為されたある数の信号品質測定の平均値に基づくことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記最良の指向性ビームの選択が、それぞれの指向性ビームに対して為された信号品質測定値の間の偏差に基づくことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- (a)指向性ビームを発生させるビーム切り換え式指向性アンテナ、
(b)該ビーム切り換え式指向性アンテナと電気的に接続された、信号を受信しかつ送信する受信機/送信機、
(c)該受信機/送信機と電気的に接続された、該受信機/送信機により受信された信号を処理するベースバンド処理装置、
(d)該ビーム切り換え式指向性アンテナと電気的に接続された、該ビームを複数の方向に方向制御するビーム方向制御ユニット、および
(e)該ビーム方向制御ユニット、該受信機/送信機、および該ベースバンド処理装置に電気的に接続された制御装置であって、信号が最良品質を有する方向に該指向性ビームを方向制御する制御装置
を備えることを特徴とするWTRU(Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit:無線送受信ユニット)。 - 前記制御装置が、選択された方向への信号品質を絶えず監視し、かつ該信号品質が予め定められた閾値より低くなった場合に、前記ビーム方向制御ユニットを別の予め定義された方向に切り換えることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のWTRU。
- 前記信号品質が受信信号強度表示およびキャリア対干渉比の少なくとも一方に関して測定されることを特徴とする請求項17に記載のWTRU。
- 前記信号の品質が休止タイムスロット中に測定されることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のWTRU。
- 前記WTRUが前記隣接セルから信号を受信するものとは異なったフレームにおいて、前記WTRUが前記対応セルからの信号を受信することを特徴とする請求項16に記載のWTRU。
- 前記対応セルから信号を受信する前記フレームが前記対応セルの放送制御チャンネル上の基地局識別番号を運ぶフレームと同一であるとして決定されることを特徴とする請求項20に記載のWTRU。
- 前記WTRUが前記隣接セルとの同期をさらに獲得することであって、それにより前記隣接セルから信号を受信するフレームが前記隣接セルの放送制御チャンネル上の基地局識別番号を運ぶフレームと同一であるとして決定されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載のWTRU。
- 前記アクティブなビームを変える前に、前記WTRUが基地局識別番号を復号することを特徴とする請求項20に記載のWTRU。
- 前記アクティブなビームを変える前に、前記WTRUが基地局識別番号を復号しないことを特徴とする請求項20に記載のWTRU。
- 前記WTRUが無指向性ビームを使用して前記隣接セルから信号を受信することを特徴とする請求項20に記載のWTRU。
- パイロットチャンネル、放送チャンネル、およびトラフィックチャンネルのうちの1つを介して前記対応セルから送信されるメッセージで、前記信号品質が測定されることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のWTRU。
- 1つの方向から受信された信号の品質を、データ系列を含むミッドアンブルの前半を使用して測定し、かつ別の方向から受信された信号の品質を前記ミッドアンブルの後半を使用して測定するようにして、2つの異なった方向から受信された信号の品質を前記ミッドアンブルと比較することを特徴とする請求項16に記載のWTRU。

- ビーム切り換え式指向性アンテナに電気的に接続された、該ビーム切り換え式指向性アンテナにより受信しかつ送信された信号を処理する受信機/送信機、
該受信機/送信機と電気的に接続された、該ビーム切り換え式指向性アンテナにより受信された該信号の品質を測定するベースバンド処理装置、
該受信機/送信機と電気的に接続された、該ビームを複数の方向に方向制御するビーム方向制御ユニット、および
該受信機/送信機、該ビーム方向制御ユニット、および該ベースバンド処理装置と電気的に接続された制御装置であって、信号が最良品質を有する方向に指向性ビームを方向制御する制御装置
を備えることを特徴とする、該指向性ビームを発生させるアンテナアレイとともに使用される集積回路(Integrated Circuit:IC)。
