Abstract
Description
魚類、貝類および甲殻類動物用の制御水生動物生産システムは、当業者にとって周知ものである(Jory、McMahon他、2002年)。米国および国際規定(例えば、USDA全米有機基準2002)が有機管理方法を定義していて、「有機」シーフードの生産の際に参照することができる(Hardy、2002年)。しかし、完全な認定を受けるには、飼料成分は動物を起源とするものであってはならない。今日まで、水生動物の飼料から魚類の副産物(肉およびオイル)の完全な除去は達成されていない(Hardy、2002年)。消費者が、水産養殖した魚類、軟体動物または甲殻類を好んで受け入れてくれるようにするためには、制御状況の下で飼育され、(USDAが定める制限および規定に適合する)認定された有機成分を95または100%含む飼料で育てられた有機シーフードまたは100%有機シーフードを生産しなければならない。魚類、軟体動物および甲殻類用の全部植物性飼料について記述するのは本発明が初めてである。この場合、魚粉および/または魚油は、加水分解した植物蛋白質、バクテリア、およびω−3LC−PUFAを含む微小藻類の組合わせにより置換される。このような飼料は、魚粉/魚油を使用しなでも海洋動物の成長をサポートする。全米有機基準委員会(NOSB)等のような標準有機認証団体が定義する、それ自身「有機」である飼料成分を選択することにより、これら新規飼料も初めて「有機飼料」として分類することができる。このような飼料は、非遺伝的に修正した飼料材料だけを含んでいて、抗生物質も魚粉および魚油も含んでいない。NOSBのような標準有機認証団体が同様に「有機である」と見なす、当業者であれば周知の管理方法により魚、軟体動物または甲殻類を飼育すると、一意の組成を有し、例えば、NOSBのような標準有機認証団体の規格の下で初めて「有機エビ」、「有機ナマズ」または「有機ハマグリ」として分類される動物ができる。100%有機シーフードを生産するには、すべての入力が有機であると認定されなければならないし、生産方法がNOSBにより承認されなければならない。本発明は、また、豚、牛、鶏および身近な動物(例えば、猫、犬、馬等)を含むがこれらに限定されない陸上動物用の有機飼料の使用も含む。
上記の任意の強化剤を含む仕上げ飼料または添加物を、動物の飼育全体を通して供給することができる。別の方法としては、および好適には、上記有益な成分内の動物の組成を最終的に強化しまた変化させるために、仕上げ飼料または添加物が収穫の前1〜70日間に供給される。有機または100%有機であると見なされた魚類、軟体動物または甲殻類は、全飼育中、魚粉または魚油の完全な代替物としての藻類飼料または抽出物および/または野菜蛋白質と一緒に摂取しなければならない。他の強化剤は、飼育サイクルの最後の3週間に制限することができる。

- 標準水産養殖方法により生産したものよりも約50%多いレベルでDHAを含む100%有機水産養殖した水生動物。
- 少なくとも約12g/kgのレベルでDHAを含む水産養殖した水生動物。
- 約12g/kgから約24g/kgのレベルでDHAを含む水産養殖した水生動物。
- 約24g/kgから約40g/kgのレベルでDHAを含む水産養殖した水生動物。
- 約12g/kgから約40g/kgのレベルでDHAを含む水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物が有機水産養殖した水生動物である、請求項4〜7の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物が100%有機水産養殖した水生動物である、請求項4〜7の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物がエビであり、前記DHAレベルが約3mg/g乾燥重量を超える、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物がエビであり、前記DHAレベルが約5mg/g乾燥重量を超える、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物がエビであり、前記DHAレベルが約10mg/g乾燥重量を超える、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物が魚である、請求項1〜9の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記魚がナマズであり、前記DHAレベルが抽出可能な全脂肪の約5%を超える、請求項13に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記魚がナマズであり、前記DHAレベルが抽出可能な全脂肪の約10%を超える、請求項13に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記魚がナマズであり、前記DHAレベルが抽出可能な全脂肪の約15%を超える、請求項13に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記魚がナマズであり、前記DHAレベルが抽出可能な全脂肪の約20%を超える、請求項13に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記動物が軟体動物である、請求項1〜9の何れか1項に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 前記軟体動物がアワビであり、前記DHAレベルが抽出可能な全脂肪の約10%を超える、請求項18に記載の水産養殖した水生動物。
- 標準水産養殖方法により生産したものより約50%高いレベルで、ルテイン、ゼアキサンチンおよび/またはリコピンを含む水産養殖した水生動物。
- 標準水産養殖方法により生産したものより約50%高いレベルで、ルテイン、ゼアキサンチンおよび/またはリコピンを含む有機水産養殖した水生動物。

- 前記微小藻類DHA源が、Crypthecodinium、Schizochytrium、Thraustochytrium、Pavlova、TetraselmisおよびIsochrysisから選択され、少なくとも約12gDHA/kg飼料のレベルで供給される、請求項68に記載の方法。
- 前記微小藻類DHA源が、Crypthecodinium、Schizochytrium、Thraustochytrium、Pavlova、TetraselmisおよびIsochrysisから選択され、約12gDHA/kgから約24gDHA/kg飼料のレベルで供給される、請求項68に記載の方法。
