− 発光体のそれぞれの列の発光体をアドレス指定することができる列アドレス手段を有しており、該手段は前記変調器のゲート電極にデータ電圧を供給して該変調器を制御し、
− 発光体のそれぞれの行の発光体を選択電圧を供給することによって選択することができる行選択手段を有しており、
− それぞれの変調器のトリップしきい値電圧を補償するための補償手段を備え
ている形式のものにおいて、
− 前記補償手段は少なくとも1つの演算増幅器を有しており、該演算増幅器のフィードバックが少なくとも1つの変調器のトリップしきい値電圧を該電圧の値にいかんに拘わらず補償することができ、かつ
− 前記増幅器は反転入力側(−)、非反転入力側(+)および出力端子を有しており、かつ
− 演算増幅器の非反転入力側(+)は前記変調器を制御する列アドレス手段に接続されており、かつ
− 演算増幅器の反転入力側(−)は前記変調器のソース電極に接続されており、かつ
− 演算増幅器の出力側は前記変調器のゲート電極に接続されている。
− 制御手段は、発光体と関連した前記変調器に対して、演算増幅器の出力側と前記変調器のゲート電極との間に接続されている少なくとも1つの第1の制御スイッチを有しており、該第1の制御スイッチは当該発光体に対する行選択電圧を受信することができるゲート電極を有している;および
− 制御手段は、発光体と関連した前記変調器に対して、演算増幅器の反転端子(−)と前記変調器のソース電極との間に接続されている第2の制御スイッチを有しており、該第2の制御スイッチは同時に選択電圧を受信することができるように前記第1の制御スイッチのゲート電極に接続されているゲート電極を有している;および
− 行選択手段は当該行における少なくとも1つの発光体を選択するために前記第1のスイッチの少なくとも1つのゲート電極に給電することができる;および
− 補償手段は列の発光体を制御する変調器のすべてのトリップしきい値電圧を補償することができる;および
− 変調器および第1の制御スイッチおよび第2の制御スイッチは薄膜ポリシリコンまたは薄膜アモルファスシリコンにおいて製造された構成要素である;および
− 変調器はn形トランジスタでありかつそのドレインは給電手段によって給電される;および
− 変調器はp形トランジスタでありかつ制御手段は更に、変調器のソースと電圧供給電極との間に配置されている受動構成要素を含んでいる;および
− それぞれの発光体は有機発光ダイオードである;および
− 受動構成要素は薄膜抵抗を有している;および
− 制御手段は更に、画像フレームの持続時間にわたりピクセルまたはサブピクセルの明るさを維持するために変調器のゲート電極とソース電極との間に接続されている少なくとも1つの充電コンデンサを含んでいる;および
− 制御手段はアクティブマトリクスを電圧安定化するために演算増幅器の出力側と反転入力側との間に接続されている補償コンデンサを含んでいる;および
− 変調器のドレイン電流は変調器に対する給電電圧間の差および変調器のゲートおよびソース間の電位差に依存している;および
− 補償手段は数個の演算増幅器を有しており、それぞれの演算増幅器は発光体を制御する変調器のトリップしきい値電圧を補償することができる。

Claims (10)
- アクティブマトリクス画像ディスプレイ装置であって、
− 行および列に分配されている発光体アレイを形成する複数の発光体(Ejn,Ein,Eim)を備え、
− アレイの発光体の放出を制御するための手段を備え、該手段は
− アレイのそれぞれの発光体(Ejn,Ein,Eim)に対して、発光体を制御することができる電流変調器(Min)を有しており、該電流変調器はソース電極、ドレイン電極、ゲート電極およびトリップしきい値電圧(Vth)を有しており、該トリップしきい値電圧(Vth)は変調器(Min)毎に変化するものであり、
− 発光体(Ein,Eim)のそれぞれの列の発光体をアドレス指定することができる列アドレス手段を有しており、該手段は前記変調器(Min,Mim)のゲート電極にデータ電圧(Vdata,i)を供給して該変調器を制御し、
− 発光体のそれぞれの行の発光体を選択電圧を供給することによって選択することができる行選択手段を有しており、
− それぞれの変調器(Mim)のトリップしきい値電圧(Vth)を補償するための補償手段(Ain,Ajn,11,21)を備え
ている形式のものにおいて、
− 前記補償手段は少なくとも1つの演算増幅器を有しており、該演算増幅器のフィードバックが少なくとも1つの変調器のトリップしきい値電圧を該電圧の値にいかんに拘わらず補償することができ、かつ
− 前記増幅器は反転入力側(−)、非反転入力側(+)および出力端子を有しており、かつ
− 演算増幅器の非反転入力側(+)は前記変調器を制御する列アドレス手段に接続されており、かつ
− 演算増幅器の反転入力側(−)は前記変調器のソース電極に接続されており、かつ
− 演算増幅器の出力側は前記変調器のゲート電極に接続されている
ことを特徴とする画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御手段は、発光体と関連した前記変調器に対して、演算増幅器(Ain,11,21)の出力側と前記変調器(Min)のゲート電極との間に接続されている少なくとも1つの第1の制御スイッチ(I1)を有しており、該第1の制御スイッチは当該発光体(Ein)に対する行選択電圧(Vselect,in)を受信することができるゲート電極を有している
請求項1記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御手段は、発光体と関連した前記変調器に対して、演算増幅器(Ain,11,21)の反転端子(−)と前記変調器(Min)のソース電極との間に接続されている第2の制御スイッチ(I2)を有しており、該第2の制御スイッチは同時に選択電圧(Vselect)を受信することができるように前記第1の制御スイッチ(I1)のゲート電極に接続されているゲート電極を有している
請求項2記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 行選択手段は当該行における少なくとも1つの発光体(Ein)を選択するために前記第1のスイッチの少なくとも1つのゲート電極に給電することができる
請求項2または3記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 補償手段は列の発光体(Ein,Eim)を制御する変調器(Min,Mim)のすべてのトリップしきい値電圧(Vth)を補償することができる
請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 変調器(Min)および第1の制御スイッチ(I1)および第2の制御スイッチ(I2)は薄膜ポリシリコンまたは薄膜アモルファスシリコンにおいて製造された構成要素である
請求項3から5までのいずれか1項記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 変調器(Min)はn形トランジスタでありかつそのドレインは給電手段(Vdd)によって給電される
請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 変調器(Min)はp形トランジスタでありかつ
制御手段は更に、変調器(Min)のソースと電圧供給電極(Vdd)との間に配置されている受動構成要素(R)を含んでいる
請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - それぞれの発光体(E)は有機発光ダイオードである
請求項1から8までのいずれか1項記載の画像ディスプレイ装置。 - 定義されないトリップしきい値電圧(Vth)を有する電流変調器(M)を制御するための回路であって、該回路はトリップしきい値電圧補償手段を含んでいる形式のものにおいて、
該トリップしきい値電圧補償手段は少なくとも1つの演算増幅器(11,21)を有しており、該演算増幅器の出力側は前記変調器のゲート電極に接続されており、該変調器の反転入力側(−)は該変調器のソース電極に接続されており、かつ該演算増幅器のフィードバックが変調器のトリップしきい値電圧を補償して、該変調器(M)を流れるドレイン電流の強度が変調器(M)のトリップしきい値電圧(Vth)に無関係であるようにした
ことを特徴とする電流変調器の制御回路。
