- Secondary Cells (AREA)
Abstract
【解決手段】遷移金属としてニッケル及びマンガンを含有し、かつ空間群R−3mに帰属される六方晶系の層状岩塩型の結晶構造を有するリチウム含有遷移金属酸化物LiaNixMnyO2(式中、a、x及びyは、1<a≦1.5、0.5≦x+y≦1、0<x<1及び0<y<1の関係を満足する。)と、スピネル構造を有するリチウムマンガン酸化物Li(1+b)Mn(2−b)O4(式中、bは0≦b≦0.33を満足する。)との混合物を、正極活物質として用いることを特徴としている。

Description
〔正極活物質の作製〕
リチウム含有遷移金属酸化物は、焼成前駆体としてNi塩とMn塩との混合溶液にアルカリ溶液を加えてNiとMnの水酸化物を共沈させることによって得たNiとMnの複合水酸化物を用い、Li2CO3とNi−Mn複合水酸化物をLi:Ni:Mnの元素のモル比が1.3:0.1:0.6となるように混合し、この混合物を空気雰囲気中500℃で10時間仮焼成を行った後、1000℃で20時間焼成することにより作製した。得られたリチウム含有遷移金属酸化物の組成は、Li〔Li0.3Ni0.1Mn0.6〕O2であった。
上記のようにして作製したLi〔Li0.3Ni0.1Mn0.6〕O2、Li〔Li0.22Ni0.17Mn0.61〕O2、LiMn2O4、及びLi〔Ni0.5Mn0.5〕O2を、表1に示す混合比で混合して、正極活物質とした。
エチレンカーボネート(EC)と、メチルエチルカーボネート(MEC)と、ジメチルカーボネート(DMC)とをそれぞれ体積比で3:3:4の割合となるように混合した溶媒に、LiPF6を1モル/リットルとなるように溶解し、さらに被膜形成剤としてのビニリデンカーボネート(VC)を1重量%となるように溶解して電解液を作製した。
アルゴン雰囲気下のグローブボックス中にて、上記のようにして作製した正極及び電解液を用いて、図4に示す三電極式ビーカーセルを作製した。図4に示すように、ビーカー内には電解液4が入れられており、電解液4に作用極1、対極2及び参照極3が挿入されている。上記正極を作用極1として用い、対極2及び参照極3としてはリチウム金属を用いて、表1に示すセルA〜Iを作製した。
上記の各セルについて、充放電試験を行った。室温にて、1mAで4.6V(vs.Li/Li+)まで充電した後、10分間休止し、その後1mAで2.0V(vs.Li/Li+)まで放電するサイクルを1回繰り返した後、1mAで4.3V(vs.Li/Li+)まで充電し、1mAで2.0V(vs.Li/Li+)まで放電するサイクルを5回繰り返した。その後、これらの最終のサイクルの放電容量から計算される充電深度(SOC)50%まで充電した。
上記充放電試験により、SOCを50%に調整した電池を、充電後30分以上静置した後の電圧を測定し、開回路電圧(OCV)を求めた。その後、上記充放電試験の放電容量から計算されるSOC70%まで充電した。SOC50%時のOCVを表1に示す。
充電側IV抵抗の算出は、以下の試験により行った。
(2)5mA充電(10秒)→休止(5分)→1mA放電(50秒)→休止(5分)
(3)10mA充電(10秒)→休止(5分)→1mA放電(100秒)→休止(5分)
(4)20mA充電(10秒)→休止(5分)→1mA放電(200秒)→休止(5分)
室温にて、(1)〜(4)の充放電試験を順に行い、それぞれの充電時の10秒後の電位を計測し、その電流値による変化の傾きからIV抵抗を、またその切片からOCVを算出した。
放電側IV抵抗の算出は、以下の試験により行った。
(2)5mA放電(10秒)→休止(5分)→1mA充電(50秒)→休止(5分)
(3)10mA充電(10秒)→休止(5分)→1mA充電(100秒)→休止(5分)
(4)20mA放電(10秒)→休止(5分)→1mA充電(200秒)→休止(5分)
室温にて、(1)〜(4)の充放電試験を順に行い、それぞれの放電時の10秒後の電位を計測し、その電流値による変化の傾きからIV抵抗を、またその切片からOCVを算出した。
以上のようにして求めた充電IV抵抗、放電IV抵抗、充電側出力、及び放電側出力を表1に示す。

Claims (4)
- 正極活物質を含む正極と、負極活物質とを含む負極と、リチウムイオン伝導性を有する非水電解質とを備える非水電解質二次電池において、
遷移金属としてニッケル及びマンガンを含有し、かつ空間群R−3mに帰属される六方晶系の層状岩塩型の結晶構造を有するリチウム含有遷移金属酸化物LiaNixMnyO2(式中、a、x及びyは、1<a≦1.5、0.5≦x+y≦1、0<x<1及び0<y<1の関係を満足する。)と、スピネル構造を有するリチウムマンガン酸化物Li(1+b)Mn(2−b)O4(式中、bは0≦b≦0.33を満足する。)との混合物を、前記正極活物質として用いることを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。 - 前記リチウム含有遷移金属酸化物におけるNi/Mnのモル比率(x/y)が、1より小さく、かつx+y<1であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の非水電解質二次電池。
- 前記リチウム含有遷移金属酸化物と前記リチウムマンガン酸化物が、重量比(リチウム含有遷移金属酸化物:リチウムマンガン酸化物)で1:9〜9:1の割合で混合されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の非水電解質二次電池。
- 空間群R−3mに帰属される六方晶系の層状岩塩構造を有するリチウム含有遷移金属酸化物の3b遷移金属サイトにLiが含有されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質二次電池。
