Abstract
表示装置の光源として使用されている冷陰極管は長手方向の温度差があると、水銀移動によるカタホレシス現象の発生により寿命劣化の要因となるが、従来は冷却機構などの追加により温度差を解消する手法しかなく、情報機器の大型化を招いてしまう。
【解決手段】
表示装置の光源として冷陰極管を使用しており、この駆動にDC/ACインバータ電源を使用する情報機器において、冷陰極管の両端の温度差を検知する温度センサを設けて、この温度差の情報により、DC/ACインバータからの冷陰極管に印加する駆動電圧波形のデューティーを、温度差による水銀変化を打ち消す方向に変化させる。本手段により、温度差を解消する機構部品を追加することなく、冷陰極管の寿命劣化を防止することが可能となる。

Claims (1)
- 冷陰極管を光源とする表示装置と、
前記冷陰極管を駆動するインバータ電源と、
前記冷陰極管の両端の温度を検知するセンサと、
前記センサの検出した温度差の応じて前記インバータ電源の駆動デューティーを制御するデューティー制御回路とを備えたことを特徴とする情報機器。
