Abstract
【解決手段】近接場光照射素子100aは、コア122aを伝搬してきた電磁波を偏向構造132aによって電磁波を基底部110aの方向に大きく偏向させ、基底部110aに面して形成された表面伝搬構造131aにおいてその電磁波を受けて出射開口部から近接場光を照射する。したがって、基底部110aの反対側に磁気ヘッドを作製することにより磁気ヘッドと近接場光の強度中心との距離を最短にすることができる。また、偏向構造132aは、比較的大きな厚みをもつので、表面伝搬構造131aに対して表面伝搬波の発生効率が高い角度で電磁波を入射させることができる。

前記照射手段は、
前記導波手段により伝搬された電磁波を前記基底面方向に偏向させる偏向構造と、
前記基底面と前記偏向構造との間に形成され、前記偏向構造により偏向された電磁波から表面伝搬波を発生させ、前記導波手段の反対側に設けられた出射開口部から近接場光を照射する表面伝搬構造と
を備えたことを特徴とする光照射素子。

前記基底面と前記偏向構造との間に形成され、前記偏向構造により偏向された電磁波から表面伝搬波を発生させ、前記導波手段の反対側に設けられた出射開口部から近接場光を照射する表面伝搬構造と
を備えたことを特徴とする情報記録再生装置。

Claims (5)
- 電磁波を伝搬させる導波手段と、前記導波手段により伝搬された電磁波を基にして近接場光を発生させる照射手段とを基底面上に有する光照射素子であって、
前記照射手段は、
前記導波手段により伝搬された電磁波を前記基底面方向に偏向させる偏向構造と、
前記基底面と前記偏向構造との間に形成され、前記偏向構造により偏向された電磁波から表面伝搬波を発生させ、出射開口部から近接場光を照射する表面伝搬構造と
を備えたことを特徴とする光照射素子。 - 前記偏向構造は、前記導波手段のコアの厚さと、該コアと前記基底面の間に形成された被覆構造の厚さとの和から前記表面伝搬構造の厚さを引いた厚さと同等以上の厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光照射素子。
- 前記偏向構造は、前記表面伝搬構造に設けられた前記出射開口部に近付くにつれて幅が狭まる形状をもつことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の光照射素子。
- 前記表面伝搬構造は、前記出射開口部に近付くにつれて幅が狭まる形状をもつことを特徴とする請求項1、2または3に記載の光照射素子。
- 電磁波を伝搬させる導波手段と、前記導波手段により伝搬された電磁波を基にして近接場光を発生させる照射手段とを基底面上に有する光照射素子を備えた情報記録再生装置であって、
前記照射手段は、
前記導波手段により伝搬された電磁波を前記基底面方向に偏向させる偏向構造と、
前記基底面と前記偏向構造との間に形成され、前記偏向構造により偏向された電磁波から表面伝搬波を発生させ、出射開口部から近接場光を照射する表面伝搬構造と
を備えたことを特徴とする情報記録再生装置。
