Abstract
【解決手段】 一対の電極間に発光層を有する有機電界発光素子において、前記発光層は燐光ドーパント及びホストを含み、前記ホストとして、(i)電荷輸送化合物(好ましくはカルバゾール系化合物)と、(ii)オキサジアゾール化合物、フェナントロリン系化合物、トリアジン系化合物、トリアゾール系化合物のうちから選択された一つ以上と、を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子である。これにより、発光層の形成時に、正孔輸送物質と電子輸送物質との混合物を燐光デバイスのホストとして使用することにより、正孔阻止層を別途に形成せずとも発光効率及び寿命特性が改善される。

Description
本発明では、燐光ドーパントを含む発光層の形成時に、ホストとして正孔輸送特性を有する電荷輸送化合物(好ましくはカルバゾール系化合物)と、電子輸送特性を有するオキサジアゾール化合物、フェナントロリン系化合物、トリアジン系化合物、トリアゾール系化合物のうち、選択された一つ以上を共に使用し、正孔阻止層(HBL)を形成しないので、デバイス構造が単純化されるだけではなく、発光効率及び寿命特性が向上した有機電界発光素子を得ることができる。
図1を参照し、本発明の一実施形態による有機電界発光素子の製造方法を説明すれば、次の通りである。
アノードは、コーニング(corning)15Ω/cm2(1,200Å)ITOガラス基板を50mmx50mmx0.7mmサイズに切り、イソプロピルアルコールと純水の中でそれぞれ5分間超音波洗浄した後、30分間UV、オゾン洗浄して使用した。

Claims (11)
- 一対の電極間に発光層を有する有機電界発光素子において、
前記発光層は燐光ドーパント及びホストを含み、
前記ホストとして、
(i)電荷輸送化合物と、
(ii)オキサジアゾール化合物、フェナントロリン系化合物、トリアジン系化合物、トリアゾール系化合物のうちから選択された一つ以上と、
を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 前記オキサジアゾール化合物は、(4−ビフェニリル)−5−(4−t−ブチルフェニル)−1,3,4−オキサジアゾールであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記フェナントロリン系化合物は、2,9−ジメチル−4,7−ジフェニル−9,10−フェナントロリンであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記トリアジン系化合物は、2,4,6−トリス(ジアリールアミノ)−1,3,5−トリアジン、2,4,6−トリス(ジフェニルアミノ)−1,3,5−トリアジン、2,4,6−トリカルバゾロ−1,3,5−トリアジン、2,4,6−トリス(N−フェニル−2−ナフチルアミノ)−1,3,5−トリアジン、2,4,6−トリス(N−フェニル−1−ナフチルアミノ)−1,3,5−トリアジン、2,4,6−トリスビフェニル−1,3,5−トリアジンからなる群から選択された一つ以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記トリアゾール系化合物は、化合物が3−フェニル−4−(1’−ナフチル)−5−フェニル−1,2,4−トリアゾルであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記電荷輸送化合物はカルバゾール系化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記電荷輸送化合物は、1,3,5−トリカルバゾリルベンゼン、4,4’−ビスカルバゾリルビフェニル、ポリビニルカルバゾール、m−ビスカルバゾリルフェニル、4,4’−ビスカルバゾリル−2,2’−ジメチルビフェニル、4’,4”−トリ(N−カルバゾリル)トリフェニルアミン、1,3,5−トリ(2−カルバゾリルフェニル)ベンゼン、1,3,5−トリス(2−カルバゾリル−5−メトキシフェニル)ベンゼン及びビス(4−カルバゾリルフェニル)シランからなる群から選択された一つ以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記発光層でのホストの含有量は、発光層形成材料の総重量100重量部を基準として80ないし99重量部であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記発光層でのオキサジアゾール化合物、フェナントロリン系化合物、トリアジン系化合物、トリアゾール系化合物のうち、選択された一つ以上の含有量は、電荷輸送化合物100重量部を基準として5ないし2,000重量部であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記発光層で前記燐光ドーパントは、
ビスチエニルピリジンアセチルアセトネートイリジウム、ビス(ベンゾチエニルピリジン)アセチルアセトネートイリジウム、ビス(2−フェニルベンゾチアゾール)アセチルアセトネートイリジウム、ビス(1−フェニルイソキノリン)イリジウムアセチルアセトネート、トリス(1−フェニルイソキノリン)イリジウム、トリス(フェニルピリジン)イリジウム、トリス(2−ビフェニルピリジン)イリジウム、トリス(3−ビフェニルピリジン)イリジウム、トリス(4−ビフェニルピリジン)イリジウムからなる群から選択された一つ以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。 - 前記発光層の上部に電子輸送層が積層されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
