実施例1
この実験では、ヘキサメタリン酸ナトリウム分散剤の、様々な不十分(starvation)量(ごく低い)での添加による、粉砕した炭酸カルシウムのスラリー特性への効果を測定した。
低濃度固形分(25重量%)において、250kWh/tでの実験室用のスラリーのサンドグラインド粉砕によって、粗い炭酸カルシウムの供給から粉砕炭酸カルシウムを調製した。乾燥炭酸カルシウムに対して、それぞれ0.1、0.2、および0.3重量%の分散剤を含有する、サンドグラインド粉砕した物質の3つのバッチを調製した。次いで、3つのバッチを、1.72MPa(250psi)の低圧ピストン圧縮によって脱水し、ケーキを得た。ケーキの透水性および抵抗は、下に説明するテスト方法によって、各ケースにおいて圧縮を行う間に測定した。次いで、3つのケーキをそれぞれ2つのサンプルに分け、そして、ケーキのサンプルを、0.5%および0.6%の部分的に中和したポリアクリル酸ナトリウム分散用試薬(60%中和)を用いて懸濁(スラリー化(slurry makedown))し、72-73重量%の固形分を含有する高濃度固形分スラリーを得た。次いで、T(スラリー化後の時間)=0、1、24、および168時間において、ブルックフィールド社製粘度計で100rpmにおけるスラリー粘度(Brookfield viscosities)を測定した。さらに、各サンプルの粒径分布、d50、および分布の鋭さを圧縮後に測定した。
