Abstract

Description
〔背景技術〕
患者ケアおよび治療法の技術的かつ社会的な側面を完全に統合する技術ベースのヘルス・ケア・システムは、関係者を隔てる距離や位置に関係なく、患者とケア提供者とを完全に接続することができるべきである。臨床医が、一般に認められた現代の医療診療(medical practice)に従って患者を処置し続ける一方で、通信技術の発展は、時間や場所に依存しない手法で遠隔での患者の診断、ケア、および医療サービスを行う継ぎ目のないシステムを提供することを、これまで以上に可能にしつつある。
[発明の概要]
本発明の一態様では、埋め込み可能医療デバイスを遠隔操作でプログラムする装置を提供する。本装置は、プログラマによって供給される、埋め込み可能医療デバイスの挙動を変更することを求める少なくとも1つの要求を受信して格納するようになっているサーバを含み、プログラマは、臨床医が少なくとも1つの要求を第1の選択された時点で作成することを可能にするようになっている。本装置はさらに、要求をサーバから受信して、この要求を第2の選択された時点で埋め込み可能医療デバイスへ送信するようになっているモニタと、サーバとモニタを結合するようになっている双方向通信システムとを含む。

- 前記第2の選択された時点は、前記第1の選択された時点よりも実質的に遅い請求項10に記載の装置。
- 第1の選択された時点で、埋め込み可能医療デバイスの動作を変更することを求める少なくとも1つの要求をプログラムすること、
前記要求を第1の選択された場所に格納すること、
前記要求を前記第1の選択された場所から第2の選択された時点で第2の選択された場所へ送信すること、および
前記要求を前記第2の選択された場所から前記埋め込み可能医療デバイスへ送信すること、
を含む方法。 - 前記プログラムすることは、臨床医に前記少なくとも1つの要求を作成するための権限を与えることを含む請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記プログラムすることはさらに、前記臨床医がプログラムする権限を有する複数の埋め込み可能医療デバイスの中から前記埋め込み可能医療デバイスを選択することを含む請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記要求を前記第1の選択された場所から前記第2の選択された場所へ送信することは、前記第1の選択された場所と前記第2の選択された場所の間にセキュアな通信リンクを形成することを含む請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記セキュアな接続を形成することは、バーチャル・プライベート・ネットワーク接続を形成することを含む請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記セキュアな接続を形成することは、セキュア・ソケット・レイヤ接続を形成することを含む請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記要求を前記第1の選択された場所から送信することは、前記第1の場所において前記要求を暗号化することをさらに含む請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記要求を前記第1の選択された場所から前記第2の選択された場所へ送信することは、前記セキュアな接続を用いて前記暗号化された要求を前記第1の選択された場所から前記第2の選択された場所へ送信することをさらに含む請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記要求を前記第1の選択された場所から前記第2の選択された場所へ送信することは、前記第2の選択された場所において前記要求を解読することをさらに含む請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記要求を前記第1の選択された場所から前記第2の選択された場所へ送信することは、前記第1の選択された時点よりも実質的に遅い第2の選択された時点で前記要求を取り出すことを含む請求項24に記載の方法。
- プログラマを用いて埋め込み可能医療デバイスの動作を変更することを求める少なくとも1つの要求を第1の選択された時点で作成すること、
前記要求を第1の選択された場所にあるサーバに格納すること、
第2の場所にあるモニタに前記要求を受信する準備が実質的にできたという通知に応答して、前記サーバ上で前記要求を第2の選択された時間に暗号化すること、
前記暗号化された要求を前記サーバから前記モニタへセキュアな双方向通信ネットワークを介して送信すること、
前記モニタ上で前記要求を解読すること、および
前記要求を前記モニタから前記埋め込み可能医療デバイスへ無線周波数送信器を用いて送信すること、
を含む方法。 - 前記要求を作成することは、臨床医に要求を作成するための権限を与えることを含む請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記暗号化された要求を前記サーバから前記モニタへセキュアな双方向通信ネットワークを介して送信することは、前記暗号化された要求を、バーチャル・プライベート・ネットワークを介して送信することを含む請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記暗号化された要求を前記サーバから前記モニタへセキュアな双方向通信ネットワークを介して送信することは、前記暗号化された要求を、セキュア・ソケット・レイヤを介して送信することを含む請求項26に記載の方法。
- 臨床医が第1の選択された時点で、複数の患者のうちの少なくとも1人に治療を送出するようになっている複数の埋め込み可能医療デバイスのうちの少なくとも1つの挙動を変更することを求める複数の要求を作成することを可能にするようになっているプログラマと、
セキュアな双方向通信ネットワークと、
第1の場所において前記双方向通信ネットワークに結合され、前記要求を受信し、格納し、暗号化するようになっているサーバであって、前記臨床医が、前記複数の埋め込み可能医療デバイスのうちの前記少なくとも1つに対して要求を出す権限を有することを検証するようにもなっている、前記サーバと、
複数の第2の選択された場所において前記双方向通信ネットワークに結合され、前記要求を前記サーバから受信して解読し、複数の第2の選択された時点で前記要求を前記複数の埋め込み可能医療デバイスのうちの前記少なくとも1つへ送信するようになっている複数のモニタと、
を備えるシステム。 - 前記双方向通信ネットワークは、電話線、イントラネット、インターネット、衛星、および全地球測位システムの少なくとも1つを含む請求項30に記載のシステム。
- 前記複数の第2の選択された時点のうちの少なくとも1つは前記第1の選択された時点よりも実質的に遅い請求項30に記載のシステム。
