Abstract
【解決手段】 ラクチド供給装置1から送られたラクチドをラクチド溶融装置2で加熱して溶融し、触媒供給装置3で触媒が添加される。溶融ラクチドはラクチド供給装置4を通して横型反応槽5に供給され、ヘッド差により流れながら重合反応が進行する。排出された反応液は縦型反応槽6の上部に供給され、内部を重力により流れ、重合反応が進行する。その後、反応液は残存ラクチド除去装置7に輸送され、未反応のラクチドを除去した後、排出される。

Description
別の実施形態において本発明は、反応装置に含まれる反応槽内の温度が後段になるほど高く、滞留時間が後段になるほど短いことを特徴とする、上記のいずれかに記載のポリマー合成装置に関する。
本発明の一実施形態においては、重合反応を実施するための反応装置として、直列的に接続された2個以上の反応槽を含むとともに、その回転軸が地面に対して実質的に水平になるように設置された攪拌装置及びその槽内に設置された少なくとも1つの堰を有する反応槽を少なくともその第1段目に含む反応装置を使用する。
ポリマーの流通性を高める観点から、堰には貫通孔を設置する場合もあり、貫通孔は、反応槽の底部に近い部分、好ましくは反応槽底部内壁との境目に存在する。貫通孔の数は、通常1〜10個、好ましくは1〜5個である。上記のような貫通孔を設けることにより、反応液を適度な速度で流通させることができる。
前段の横型攪拌槽及び後段の縦型反応槽における反応条件についても、上記と同様の条件で反応を行うことができる。
図4に、本発明のポリマー合成装置の一実施例として、ポリ乳酸合成装置の実施例を示す。本実施例では、ラクチド供給装置1、ラクチド溶融装置2、触媒供給装置3、ラクチド供給装置4、横型反応槽5、縦型反応槽6、残存ラクチド除去装置7、送液ポンプ8−13、バルブ14−29を備える合成装置によってポリ乳酸の合成を行う。本実施例は、反応装置として横型反応槽5と縦型反応槽6の2つが直列的に接続されている反応装置を用いる例である。送液ポンプ8−13については、輸送する液の粘度が低く、重力を利用して送液できる場合等については、一部省略することができる。また、バルブ14−25についても必要に応じて省略することができる。
実施例1で示した合成装置によって、ポリ乳酸を合成した。ラクチド溶融装置2の温度を120℃に設定し、横型反応槽5に、触媒、重合開始剤を分散した溶融ラクチド(分子量144)を120℃で供給した。横型反応槽5内において、反応液を平均温度170℃、滞留時間10時間に保持した。滞留時間の前半においては、反応槽外周部のジャケットからの熱伝導により加熱され、後半においては、重合に伴う反応熱に伴い重合物自身の温度が上昇したが、一部の反応熱は反応槽の内壁を介して熱伝導により除去された。横型反応槽から排出されたポリ乳酸は、重合反応度(転化率)が55%(重合反応度=1−残存ラクチド濃度/初期ラクチド濃度として算出)、重量平均分子量17万、粘度250Pa・s程度であった。

- 反応装置を含むポリマー合成装置であって、
反応装置が直列的に接続された2個以上の反応槽を含み、その第1段目の反応槽が、その回転軸が地面に対して実質的に水平になるように設置された攪拌装置及びその槽内に設置された堰を有する、前記ポリマー合成装置。 - 反応装置を含むポリマー合成装置であって、
反応装置が直列的に接続された2個以上の反応槽を含み、その最終段の反応槽が、その回転軸が地面に対して実質的に垂直になるように設置された攪拌装置を有する、前記ポリマー合成装置。 - 反応装置を含むポリマー合成装置であって、
反応装置が、(1)直列的に接続された2個以上の反応槽を含み、(2)前段に存在する少なくとも1つの反応槽が、その回転軸が地面に対して実質的に水平になるように設置された攪拌装置及びその槽内に設置された少なくとも1つの堰を有し、(3)後段に存在する少なくとも1つの反応槽が、その回転軸が地面に対して実質的に垂直になるように設置された攪拌装置を有する、前記ポリマー合成装置。 - 堰が貫通孔を有する請求項1又は3に記載の装置。
- 反応装置に含まれる反応槽内の温度が後段になるほど高く、滞留時間が後段になるほど短いことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
