Abstract
【解決手段】 液晶パネル11のTFT基板19には、走査線22を駆動する走査線駆動用TCP14を介して走査線用配線基板15が接続され、また、信号線21を駆動する信号線駆動用TCP16を介して信号線用配線基板17が接続される。走査線用配線基板15と、信号線用配線基板17とは、TFT基板の周辺領域に配置される可撓性配線18によって接続される。信号線駆動用TCP16を折り曲げることによって、信号線用配線基板17をバックライト装置の背面側に配置する、配線基板のコの字型配置が得られる。信号線駆動用TCP17の折り曲げを解除する際にも、液晶パネル11上での表示が可能である。

Description
前記信号線及び走査線をそれぞれ駆動する信号線駆動用テープ・キャリア・パッケージ(TCP)及び走査線駆動用TCPと、
前記信号線駆動用TCPに接続され、且つ、該信号線駆動用TCPを介して前記絶縁性基板に機械的に支持された信号線用配線基板と、
前記走査線駆動用TCPに接続され、且つ、該走査線駆動用TCPを介して前記絶縁性基板に機械的に支持された走査線用配線基板と、
前記信号線用配線基板と走査線用配線基板とを接続する、可撓性配線によって構成される基板間配線とを備え、
前記信号線駆動用用TCP及び走査線駆動用TCPの少なくとも一方は、折り曲げ可能であり、該折り曲げに際して、前記可撓性配線を追従させつつ前記信号線用配線基板又は走査線用配線基板を前記絶縁性基板の背面側に配置させることを特徴としている。

Claims (7)
- 画素を駆動するスイッチング素子と、該スイッチング素子にデータ信号及び選択信号をそれぞれ供給する信号線及び走査線とが形成された絶縁性基板と、
前記信号線及び走査線をそれぞれ駆動する信号線駆動用テープ・キャリア・パッケージ(TCP)及び走査線駆動用TCPと、
前記信号線駆動用TCPに接続され、且つ、該信号線駆動用TCPを介して前記絶縁性基板に機械的に支持された信号線用配線基板と、
前記走査線駆動用TCPに接続され、且つ、該走査線駆動用TCPを介して前記絶縁性基板に機械的に支持された走査線用配線基板と、
前記信号線用配線基板と走査線用配線基板とを接続する、可撓性配線によって構成される基板間配線とを備え、
前記信号線駆動用用TCP及び走査線駆動用TCPの少なくとも一方は、折り曲げ可能であり、該折り曲げに際して、前記可撓性配線を追従させつつ前記信号線用配線基板又は走査線用配線基板を前記絶縁性基板の背面側に配置させることを特徴とする基板モジュール。 - 前記基板間配線は、前記両端部を除いて前記絶縁性基板に支持される、請求項1に記載の基板モジュール。
- 前記信号線駆動用TCP及び走査線駆動用TCPの前記少なくとも一方は、互いに平行な複数のスリットを有し、該スリットにおいて折り曲げ可能である、請求項1又は2に記載の基板モジュール。
- 液晶層を挟んで前記絶縁性基板と対向する対向基板を更に備える、請求項1〜3の何れか一に記載の基板モジュール。
- 前記対向基板は前記絶縁性基板よりも小さな外形を有し、前記基板間配線は前記絶縁性基板の前記対向基板に隣接しない周辺領域に支持される、請求項4に記載の基板モジュール。
- 請求項5に記載の基板モジュールと、該基板モジュールにバックライトを供給するバックライト装置とを備え、前記信号線用配線基板及び走査線用配線基板の少なくとも一方は、前記バックライト装置の背面側に配置されることを特徴とする液晶モジュール。
- 前記絶縁性基板及び前記バックライト装置の少なくとも一方は、前記基板間配線を収容する配線溝を有する、請求項6に記載の液晶モジュール。
