Abstract
【解決手段】燃焼室5の上面中心に、スワール燃料噴射弁もしくはマルチホール型燃料噴射弁からなる燃料噴射弁11が設けられ、これに隣接して点火プラグ12が配置される。ピストン4の冠面中心には、リエントラント型のキャビティ13が形成され、圧縮行程においてキャビティ13内に燃料が噴射される。機関高速時には、低速時よりもピストン4が下死点に近い時期から燃料噴射を行い、同時に、燃料噴射圧力をある圧力よりも高くする。これにより噴霧の貫徹力が噴射期間の途中で急激に増加するようになり、キャビティ13に噴霧が達して良好な混合気が形成されるとともに、噴射終了から点火までの時間を十分に確保できる。

Claims (13)
- ピストン冠面に形成されたキャビティに向けて燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁と、上記キャビティに衝突した噴霧により形成される混合気に火花点火する点火プラグと、を備えてなる筒内直噴式ガソリン機関において、
上記燃料噴射弁として、噴霧の貫徹力が、噴射初期に急激に増加した後、時間経過に伴い増加量が小さくなる基本的な第1の特性と、噴射期間の途中から急激に貫徹力が増加する第2の特性と、に制御可能な燃料噴射弁を用い、
機関の運転条件に応じて、第1の特性と第2の特性とに切り換えることを特徴とする筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。 - 上記燃料噴射弁は、燃料噴射圧力が低いときには第1の特性となり、燃料噴射圧力が高いときに第2の特性となることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 機関低速域では燃料噴射圧力を低くして第1の特性とし、機関高速域では燃料噴射圧力を高くして第2の特性とすることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 機関回転数が高いほど高い燃料噴射圧力とすることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 機関低負荷域では燃料噴射圧力を低くして第1の特性とし、機関高負荷域では燃料噴射圧力を高くして第2の特性とすることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 機関負荷が高いほど高い燃料噴射圧力とすることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 機関高負荷域では、燃料噴射圧力を高くして第2の特性とするとともに、複数回に分割して噴射することを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 機関の冷却水温が低いときには燃料噴射圧力を高くして第2の特性とし、暖機完了後は燃料噴射圧力を低くして第1の特性とすることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 上記燃料噴射弁は、噴霧に旋回成分を与えるスワール燃料噴射弁であることを特徴とする請求項2〜8のいずれかに記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 上記燃料噴射弁は、微細な噴孔を円周上に複数個並べたマルチホール型燃料噴射弁であることを特徴とする請求項2〜8のいずれかに記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 噴孔の数を可変制御可能な燃料噴射弁を用い、第1の特性とするときには噴孔の数を少なくし、第2の特性とするときには噴孔の数を多くすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 噴孔の径を可変制御可能な燃料噴射弁を用い、第1の特性とするときには噴孔の径を大きくし、第2の特性とするときには噴孔の径を小さくすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
- 上記燃料噴射弁は、シリンダ中心軸線に沿って燃料を噴射するように燃焼室上部のシリンダ中心位置に配置され、かつピストンの中心位置に、上記キャビティが配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載の筒内直噴式ガソリン機関。
