Abstract
【解決手段】 この電界放出型表示装置1は、制御電極9の開口部11の所定方向(x方向)の開口幅W1が遮蔽電極23の電子通過孔21の上記所定方向の開口幅W2より大きく形成され、遮蔽電極23の電子通過孔21の上記所定方向の開口幅W2の全範囲が制御電極9の開口部11の上記所定方向の開口幅W1の範囲内に重なる様に遮蔽電極23が制御電極9の前側に配置される。

Claims (5)
- カソード電極が形成されたカソード基板と、
前記カソード電極上に形成された電子放射物質層と、
前記電子放射物質層の前側に配置され、前記電子放射物質層との対向部分に開口部が形成された制御電極と、
前記制御電極の前方に配置され、アノード電極及び蛍光体が形成されたアノード基板と、
前記制御電極と前記アノード電極との間に配置され、前記電子放射物質層から前記制御電極の前記開口部を通過して前記蛍光体へ流れる電子ビームが通過する電子通過孔が形成された遮蔽電極とを備えた電界放出型表示装置であって、
前記制御電極の前記開口部の所定方向の開口幅が前記遮蔽電極の前記電子通過孔の前記所定方向の開口幅より大きく形成され、前記遮蔽電極の前記電子通過孔の前記所定方向の開口幅の全範囲が前記制御電極の前記開口部の前記所定方向の開口幅の範囲内に重なる様に、前記遮蔽電極が前記制御電極の前側に配置されることを特徴とする電界放出型表示装置。 - 前記遮蔽電極の前記電子通過孔は略長方形に形成され、前記制御電極の前記開口部は前記遮蔽電極の前記電子通過孔と交差する略長方形に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界放出型表示装置。
- 前記遮蔽電極の1つの前記電子通過孔に対して、前記制御電極に複数の前記開口部が形成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の電界放出型表示装置。
- 前記電子放射物質層が前記制御電極の前記開口部と略同形状であることを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項3の何れかに記載の電界放出型表示装置。
- 請求項1〜請求項4の何れかに記載の電界放出型表示装置の製造方法であって、
(a)カソード基板上にカソード電極を形成し、(b)前記カソード基板及び前記カソード電極上に絶縁体層を形成し、前記絶縁体層上に感光性制御電極材料層を形成し、(c)形成した前記感光性制御電極材料層のうち、開口部にする部分を未露光のまま残して制御電極にする部分だけを露光して制御電極に変化させ、(d)前記感光性制御電極材料層の未露光部分及び前記絶縁体層のうちの前記未露光部分に重なる部分を薬液により浸食させて除去することにより、前記絶縁体層上に制御電極を形成すると共に前記制御電極及び前記絶縁体層を貫通した開口部を形成する際に、前記(c)では、前記感光性制御電極材料層の未露光部分を略長方形に形成し、前記(d)では、前記薬液を前記感光性制御電極材料層の前記未露光部分の長手方向に沿って前記感光性制御電極材料層の表面に流すことにより、前記感光性制御電極材料層の前記未露光部分及び前記絶縁体層のうちの前記未露光部分に重なる部分を浸食して除去することを特徴とする電界放出型表示装置の製造方法。
