【請求項3】 尿素を最大で80g/l、好ましくは最大で50g/lの量で含むことを特徴とする、請求項2記載の酸洗い剤。
アンモニウムカルバミド((NH2)2CO)とも呼ばれる尿素は、無色、粒状の化合物であり、水に容易に溶解(〜500g/l)する。尿素はまた、各種固体過酸化物などのNOxを減少させる他の物質とくらべて比較的安価な化学製品(約4SEK/Kg)である。尿素は純粋の一酸化窒素又は二酸化窒素と反応しない。しかしながら、HNO3などの強酸の存在下では次式により錯体の生成が起こり、次いで尿素の錯体と硝酸が窒素ガス、シアン酸及び水を生成しながら亜硝酸と反応する。
