Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.焼結TiO2粒子から本質的になる粉砕媒体の製造方法であって、 a)ベースTiO2粒子を製造する工程と、 b)ベースTiO2粒子を少なくとも1つの含水酸化物で被覆する工程と、 c)被覆されたTiO2粒子を圧縮する工程と、 d)圧縮されたTiO2粒子を粒状化して、実質的に円形の縁部を有するTi O2粒子を形成する工程と、 e)粒状化されたTiO2粒子を焼結して焼結TiO2粒子から本質的になる粉 砕媒体を形成する工程と、 を具えることを特徴とする製造方法。 2.ベースTiO2粒子が、塩化物製造法によって製造されることを特徴とす る請求項1に記載の製造方法。 3.ベースTiO2粒子が、硫酸塩製造法によって製造されることを特徴とす る請求項1に記載の製造方法。 4.含水酸化物被覆が、被覆されたTiO2粒子の全重量に対して3から20 重量%の被覆されたTiO2粒子を構成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の 製造方法。 5.含水酸化物が、アルミナ、シリカ、ボリア、ジルコニア、およびそれらの 混合物よりなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の製造方法。 6.含水酸化物被覆が、アルミナ3から12重量%を含有することを特徴とす る請求項5に記載の製造方法。 7.含水酸化物被覆が、アルミナ3から12重量%およびシリカ1から10重 量%を含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の製造方法。 8.含水酸化物で被覆されたTiO2粒子が、濾過され、乾燥され、微粉砕さ れ、かつ選別されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。 9.粒状化されたTiO2粒子が、1200℃から1500℃の範囲内の温度 で焼結されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。 10.粉砕媒体が、砂、ケイ酸ジルコニウム、アルミナ、炭化ケイ素、シリカ 、ジルコニア、およびそれらの混合物よりなる群から選択される粒子も含有する ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。 11.請求項1に記載の製造方法によって製造された粉砕媒体。 12.焼結TiO2粒子が、平均粒径50から5000μmの範囲以内、比重 2.9から4.3g/cc、かさ密度1.7から2.6kg/l、およびビッカ ース硬度800から1200kg/mm2を有することを特徴とする請求項1に 記載の製造方法によって製造された粉砕媒体。 13.粒子状物質を媒体微粉砕するために請求項1に記載の製造方法によって 製造された粉砕媒体を使用する方法であって、 a)液体媒体中に粒子状物質を分散させて微粉砕するスラリーを提供する工程 と、 b)媒体微粉砕機中に粉砕媒体を導入する工程と、 c)粉砕媒体を含有する媒体微粉砕機中に微粉砕するスラリーを導入する工程 と、 d)粒子状物質を微粉砕する工程と、 を具えることを特徴とする方法。 14.粒子状物質が顔料であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の方法。 15.粒子状物質が二酸化チタン顔料であることを特徴とする請求項14に記 載の方法。
