Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.第1及び第2の2つの基板間に電気光学材料を有するディスプレイ装置であ って、これら基板のうちの少なくとも1つが透明であり、第1の基板には画素 の位置に少なくとも1つの画像電極が設けられており、各画素は行電極及び列 電極に結合されており、前記ディスプレイ装置は更に、選択信号を前記行電極 に供給する第1駆動手段と、データ信号を前記列電極に供給する第2駆動手段 とを有する制御手段を具えている当該ディスプレイ装置において、 このディスプレイ装置が測定素子を有し、前記制御手段は、選択期間中この 測定素子に電圧を供給してこの選択期間後のこの測定素子の両端間の電圧の変 化を測定しこの測定された電圧の変化に応じて当該制御手段が発生するディス プレイ装置の制御電圧のうちの少なくとも1つを調整する手段を有しているこ とを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 2.請求の範囲1に記載のディスプレイ装置において、各画素がスイッチング素 子を介して行電極又は列電極に結合されるようになっていることを特徴とする ディスプレイ装置。 3.請求の範囲2に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記測定素子が画素の行 を有していることを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 4.請求の範囲2に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記制御手段は、前記測 定素子の両端間の電圧の極性の符号を反転させるとともに前記選択期間の直後 のこの電圧と次の選択期間の直前のこの電圧との間の差を測定する手段と、こ の電圧差の絶対値が双方の極性に対しほぼ同じとなるように前記ディスプレイ 装置の制御電圧を調整する手段とを有していることを特徴とするディスプレイ 装置。 5.請求の範囲1に記載のディスプレイ装置において、このディスプレイ装置が 反射器を有するか、或いは一方の基板上の画像電極が反射性となっていること を特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 6.請求の範囲1に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記制御電圧が選択信号 の電圧を構成するようになっていることを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 7.請求の範囲1に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記制御電圧がデータ信 号の電圧を構成するようになっていることを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 8.請求の範囲1に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記制御電圧がディスプ レイ装置の基準電圧を構成するようになっていることを特徴とするディスプレ イ装置。 9.請求の範囲1に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記第2の基板が少なく とも1つの対向電極を有していることを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 10.請求の範囲9に記載のディスプレイ装置において、前記制御電圧が前記対 向電極の信号の電圧を構成するようになっていることを特徴とするディスプレ イ装置。
