Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.(a)相分離可能な銅および銀含有ガラスを提供し、該ガラスがその中のハ ロゲン化物粒子の存在により相分離可能であり、 (b)該ガラスを、前記粒子が応力の方向に引き伸ばされ、整列されるような 応力で引き伸ばし、 (c)(i)該ガラスのある領域をイオン交換浴に曝すか、または(ii)該ガラスの ある領域を紫外線および熱に露出して、前記ハロゲン化銀粒子を少なくとも部 分的に還元し、それによって、該領域のガラスを偏光性にする、 各工程により、偏光領域および非偏光領域が一体となったガラスを製造する方 法。 2.前記イオン交換浴が銀イオンを含有する溶融浴であることを特徴とする請求 の範囲第1項記載の方法。 3.前記溶融浴が硝酸塩および硫酸塩を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲第2項 記載の方法。 4.前記相分離可能なガラスが、xが0と1の間の値をとる、AgClxBr1-x 、CuClxBr1-x、およびCu/Cdハロゲン化物からなる群より選択され る還元性の引き伸ばされた層を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項記載の 方法。 5.a) 相分離可能な銅および銀含有ガラスを提供し、該ガラスがその中のハ ロゲン化物粒子の存在により相分離可能であり、 b) 該ガラスを、前記粒子が応力の方向に引き伸ばされ、整列されるよう な応力で引き伸ばし、 c) 該ガラスに保護領域および非保護領域のパターンを、保護すべきガラ スの前記領域上に材料の層を施すことにより形成し、該材料がAgの該ガラス 中へのイオン移動を妨げることができ、 d) 該ガラスを、銀を含有する溶融イオン交換浴に施して、前記ハロゲン 化銀粒子を銀に還元し、それによって、該ガラスを非保護領域において偏光性 にし、 e) 前記保護領域から前記材料を除去して、その下にある非偏光ガラスを 現す、 各工程により、偏光領域および非偏光領域が一体となったガラスを形成する方 法。 6.前記相分離可能なガラスが、xが0と1の間の値をとる、AgClxBr1-x 、CuClxBr1-x、およびCu/Cdハロゲン化物からなる群より選択され る還元性の引き伸ばされた層を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲第5項記載の 方法。 7.前記材料の層が、TiおよびSiからなる群より選択されることを特徴とす る請求の範囲第5項記載の方法。 8.前記材料の層が、スパッタリング、熱蒸着、および化学蒸着からなる群より 選択される方法により形成されることを特徴とする請求の範囲第7項記載の方 法。 9.前記材料の層が、0.01から5μmの範囲の厚さを有することを特徴とする請 求の範囲第8項記載の方法。 10.前記ガラスが、250から450℃の範囲の温度で前記イオン交換浴に曝されるこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲第5項記載の方法。 11.a) 相分離可能な銅および銀含有ガラスを提供し、該ガラスがその中のハ ロゲン化物粒子の存在により相分離可能であり、 b) 該ガラスを、前記粒子が応力の方向に引き伸ばされ、整列されるよう な応力で引き伸ばし、 c) 孔により形成された所望のパターンを有するシャドウマスクを配置す ることにより、前記ガラスに保護領域および非保護領域のパターンを形成し、 d) 該ガラスの非保護領域に紫外線および熱を、前記孔を通して露出して 、前記ハロゲン化銀粒子を銀に還元し、それによって、該ガラスを前記非保護 領域において偏光性にする、 各工程により、偏光領域および非偏光領域が一体となったガラスを形成する方 法。
