Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.シリカを主に含み、かつシリカベースの外周部分(22)を含むバーで構成 された1次プリフォーム(24)上にシリカを堆積させることによって、少なく とも1つのシリカベースの外側堆積層(23)を形成するステップを含む、光フ ァイバプリフォーム(3)を製造する方法であって、 外側堆積層(23)の大部分にわたって、CaF2、MgF2、AlF3、B2O3 、およびAl2O3で形成されるグループから選択した少なくとも1つの化合物 をシリカに添加することによって、外側堆積層(23)の粘性を、1次プリフォ ーム(24)の外周部分(22)の粘性とほぼ等しくなるように調節することを 特徴とする方法。 2.CaF2、MgF2、およびAlF3で構成されたグループからドーパントを 選択した場合に、ドーパントの比率が、シリカに対するフッ素化された元素の重 量で5ppm〜100ppmの範囲内となる、請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 3.B2O3およびAl2O3で形成されたグループからドーパントを選択した場合 に、ドーパントの比率が、シリカに対する 酸化された元素の重量で0.01%〜1%の範囲内となる、請求の範囲第1項に 記載の方法。 4.ドーピングされたシリカが、一般に50μm〜300μmの範囲となるサイ ズのグレンの形態で添加される、請求の範囲第1項から第3項のいずれか一項に 記載の方法。 5.1次プリフォーム(24)のシリカベースの外周部分が、超高純度シリカの 管である、請求の範囲第1項から第4項のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
