Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.光ファイバを通して光を伝播させるための光学的に滑らかな面を有する光 ファイバコアと、該光ファイバの一部に沿って延在する発光領域とを有する光フ ァイバを具備する照明装置であって、該発光領域は、 該光ファイバコアの該光学的に滑らかな面に沿って延在する第1の長手方向軸 線を中心にして配置される複数の光学要素であって、各々が、該光ファイバコア 内に延在する光学的反射面を有する複数の光学要素と、 該光ファイバコアの該光学的に滑らかな面に沿って延在する第2の長手方向軸 線を中心にして配置される複数の光学要素であって、各々が、該光ファイバコア 内に延在する光学的反射面を有し、該第2の長手方向軸線が該第1の長手方向軸 線からずれている複数の光学要素と、 を有してなる照明装置。 2.前記第2の長手方向軸線は、前記第1の長手方向軸線から1度〜180度 の間の角度で角度的にずれている請求項1記載の照明装置。 3.前記第2の長手方向軸線は、前記第1の長手方向軸線から5度〜100度 の間の角度で角度的にずれている請求項1記載の照明装置。 4.前記第2の長手方向軸線は、前記第1の長手方向軸線から5度〜20度の 間の角度で角度的にずれている請求項1記載の照明装置。 5.前記第2の長手方向軸線は、前記第1の長手方向軸線から10度の角度で 角度的にずれている請求項1記載の照明装置。 6.前記発光領域は、 前記光ファイバコアの前記光学的に滑らかな面に沿って延在する 第3の長手方向軸線を中心にして配置され、該光ファイバコア内に延在する光学 的反射面を有する複数の光学要素を備え、該第3の長手方向軸線が前記第1の長 手方向軸線および前記第2の長手方向軸線から角度的にずれている請求項1記載 の照明装置。 7.前記光ファイバに光学的に連結された光源をさらに具備する請求項1記載 の照明装置。 8.前記光ファイバは、円形、楕円形、卵形、矩形、方形および多角形からな る断面形状の群から選択された断面形状を有する請求項1記載の照明装置。 9.所望の視角γで配置された軸線を中心にした視覚領域にて光導波路から反 射した光の角強度の目に見える変動を減ずるようになっている光導波路であって 、 光源からの光を受けるようになっている第1の面と、前記光導波路を通して伝 播軸線に沿って光を伝播させるための少なくとも1つの光学的に滑らかな面とを 有する光学的に実質的透明な材料から形成されたコアを具備し、 該光学的面は複数の光学要素を具備し、それら光学要素の各々は、該伝播軸線 に垂直な平面に対して傾斜角θで配置された少なくとも1つの光学的反射面を有 し、該傾斜角θが、等式、 によって決定され、ここでξは、(α/2)から(β/2)までまたは(−β/ 2)から(−α)までの角度の群から選択され、 α=陰影角度であり、 β=光ファイバを伝播する光のテーパ角度であり、 γ’=反射した光の所望の退出角度である光導波路。 10.請求項9記載の光導波路であって、 である光導波路。 11.自動車警告灯として使用するようになっている光ファイバ照明装置であ って、 光源からの光を受けるようになっている対向する第1および第2の面と、光フ ァイバを通して伝播軸線に沿って光を伝播させるための反射面とを有し、約50 0mmの長さと約9.5mmの幅とを有する光ファイバと、 該光ファイバの該面に沿って延在する第1の長手方向軸線を中心にして配置さ れる複数の光学要素であって、各々が、0.25mmの深さまで該ファイバ内に 延在する第1の反射面と第2の反射面とを有する複数の光学要素と、 該光ファイバの該面に沿って延在する第2の長手方向軸線を中心にして配置さ れる複数の光学要素であって、各々が、0.25mmの深さまで該ファイバ内に 延在する第1の反射面と第2の反射面とを有する複数の光学要素と、 を具備し、 該第1の長手方向軸線が、該第2の長手方向軸線から10度だけ角度的にずれ ている光ファイバ照明装置。 12.各光学要素は、前記光ファイバの前記コア内に延在して前記伝播軸線に 垂直な軸線に対し約52.5度の角度で配置される第1の光学的反射面を具備す る請求項11記載の光ファイバ照明装置。 13.各光学要素は、前記光ファイバの前記コア内に延在して前記伝播軸線に 垂直な軸線に対し約52.5度の角度で配置される第2の光学的反射面をさらに 具備し、該第1および第2の光学的反射面は線状の溝底部に沿って交差する請求 項12記載の光ファイバ 照明装置。
