Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 導電層(6)により相互に分離された、サブストレート(4)上の複数のバ ッファ層(5)と、上方バッファ層(5)上に配置された一定のリブ幅(W1) のクラッディング、クラッド被覆の施されていないリブ導波路(7,8)とから 構成された光集積化ビーム拡がりトランスフォーマであって、前記リブ導波路( 7,8)は、チップ側、ファイバ側インターフェース(3,2)間にテーパ付領 域(9)を有する当該のトランスフォーマにおいて、 ファイバ側インターフェース(2)からテーパ付領域(9)まで延在するセク ション(11)が形成されており、該セクション(11)では、ファイバ側イン ターフェース(2)からテーパ付領域(9)まで延びるセクション(11)が設 けられており、該セクション(11)では、リブ(8)がファイバ側インターフ ェース(2)のところまで延長されており、前記リブ導波路(7,8)は完全に 除去されており、そして、露出されたバッファ層(8)は、連続性リブ(8)に 対称的にリブ幅(W1)より大の幅(W2)に絞られ低減されていることを特徴 とする光集積化ビーム拡がりトランスフォーマ。 2. テーパ付領域(9)は、ランプ(10)として構成され、該ランプ(10) は、長手方向で連続的に 変化する勾配及び露出されたバッファ層(5)への連続的移行部を有することを 特徴とする請求の範囲1記載の光集積化ビーム拡がりトランスフォーマ。 3. バッファ層(5)は、サブストレート(4)の方に向かって増大する層高さ (d1,d2,d3)を以て構成されていることを特徴とする請求の範囲1又は 2記載の光集積化ビーム拡がりトランスフォーマ。
